mathematics. :dead:

i've only began studying add maths and i cant answer the questions properly! quadratic equations i think. i understand, but i just dont seem to get the answer correct like all the time. and i missed around 20 minutes of today's add maths lesson! :bigcry:

anyway, it's still the first week of school. and my physics teacher still hasnt come in to teach, so i should not judge that she would be a bad teacher. who knws, she might be good?

and timetable might change. :\

That happens to almost everyone, it's normal if you score C, D or even failed for your very first Add Math test, and I'm pretty sure that you will definitely improve if you do a lot of practice. But if you can do better than that, just keep it up, don't purposely fail your Add Math because I said so. :dozey:

Practice is the major key, you can always refer to your Add Math teacher or your genius friends to ask for a guide.

It's just a beginning.

HAHA! thanks for the advice.

Can we not talk about Add Maths? It's pure evil. See? Now I've got a headache, you.

:( sorry.

is uni fun?

no uniforms, not much rules, no discipline teacher ronda-ing the school...

please allow me to b*tch about school. for a little bit. if you don't want to read, don't read. :P

today i got 4 periods of the pantun teacher. :disappointed:

she's gonna teach me moral and physics. and her shoulder twitches, i think she has Parkinsons. plus her English is not that good.

but about English that's excusable because you know the edu system in Malaysia switches Science and Maths from BM to English, and now switching back to BM, so it must be confusing.

do you like maths? seemingly that you take calculus...

I don't like Math :freak:

But if you'd like to have a career which is related to any branch of Science, you don't have any option. You have to take it no matter what.

Yup. :( Somethings MUST be accepted, and not contradicted. GAH!

Maths again? :\ Hey I did maths today! I divided the bill when I went out to eat with my friends earlier... And that's the only type of maths i do these days... apart from calculating my own cgpa before official results are out... haha...

Uni is fun... At least when I was an undergraduate, it was fun... It's not so fun when you're doing a million assignments as an MA student, but the satisfaction you get after you've spent so much time and energy on assignments, and when lecturers acknowledge that you've done good work is really special. :nice:

yeah...undergrad was kinda more relaxed for me. i'm trying to juggle between 3 assignments for my MSc while looking into what i want to do my final project on. luckily for 1 assignment it's a group project & we're doing a buddy system for my group...& 2x luckily my buddy is daym smart (his grandpa taught Chemistry @ Princeton! :stunned: )...but the other 2 i'm on my own.... :bigcry:

OMG What's up with your Physics teacher :wtf:

Calculus = advanced scientific mathematics

have you tried Discrete Mathematics? my brain instantly collapses on itself just looking at the concepts...thankfully i don't have any modules for that branch of maths on my course at Bristol. :P

english no shakespeare = bullshit boring. :(

sejarah FTW. though i wish the education system emphasized on the English, Chinese, Indian etc. history as much as they emphasized on the Islam history.

the Malaysian education system's standard English syllabus doesn't cover Shakespeare at all. even if you're doing English Literature, it's actually down to the school itself whether they want to cover Shakespeare or not alongside the modern classics (Dickens, Bronte, etc.)...& it's usually the convent schools like St John's, Victoria Inst., Convent Bkt Nanas, BBGS, that do it.

btw, is the Sejarah still just going on & on about Sejarah Tanah Melayu for Form 1 - 5 & only covered Sejarah Dunia in Form 4? i always thought that was such a waste that we only had 1 yr to learn the history of the rest of the world... :inquisitive:

Kimgan, 3 assignments at the same time? Hang in there! I've just started my sem so I'm just bracing myself for the upcoming stress and caffeine overload...

Oh yeah, I went to St Johns for Form 6 and they didn't offer English Lit at all... :\ My friend from Convent Bukit Nanas also had to take her Eng Lit paper outside, because her school didn't offer it either. Not sure about the others though...

And yeah, Sejarah's still the same. Sejarah Dunia's still only taught in Form 4. That was the only time I liked Sejarah... Haha. Not to be racist or anything, but our sejarah is quite dull... And you can tell it's pretty biased. But that's another story all together... :P :chris:

Oh yeah, have I ever expressed how much I LOVE your siggie? The Edge is so cute. :laugh3:

I had a look at the Engineering Mathematics and Pure Calculus books yesterday and I don't even can read the title properly. :P

Aisya, are you from St Johns? :surprised:

My best friend here was the best St Johns' student for SPM 2008.

what's MA and MSc?

I wish that Sejarah had a balance. I love Sejarah. But I wish that the syllabus taught more of other things. My friend at international school studies about British in Britain and WW2. How lucky of him. :(

I'm not sure whether it covers mostly about Malaysia. but form 4 has a bit of Sejarah Dunia. I LOVE form 2 sejarah. The Brits in Malaysia, .

and im thinking of taking English Literature as my 10th subject... Is it a good choice? :\ I need advice, because it's like extra money to spend on tuition.

oh yes, i wanted to post this at the Asian thread, but it's more concentrated on Malaysia so I thought it would be better to post it here...

today when my kokurikulum teacher announce on the speakers, he started off with the usual greetings, and then he said "Salam 1Malaysia." and i was like wtf.

MA = Master of Arts

MSc = Master of Science

English Literature? If you think you can do it, why not?

OMG Salam 1Malaysia :wtf:

:bigcry:

i can do it... but it's between Bible Knowledge (which is taught for free) and English Literature (which is RM100). :\

the government's effort at putting the concept into us. however, i think that this country is quite 1Malaysia, even before the concept.
