Sport hurts people. Rugby players, racing car drivers and boxers have all been known to experience the pain game.

 

Well now it's time to add skiers to the list.

 

Frenchman Yannick Bertrand could have a decent career if he masters the basics of the slalom - putting both legs to the side of the gate seems to be the gist of it.

 

Sadly Monsieur Bertrand forgot the golden rule on this particular run. Our Gallic hero found himself skiiing straight into the flag with a ski either side of the pole.

 

Judging by his reaction the consequences were predictably painful.

 

I'd stick to the snow plough position if you take to the piste this Christmas.
