I was just on KROQ's website and noticed that they had an article about Coldplay's upcoming album at the bottom of the page. Honestly, I don't think the album will be called Prospekt, however I think May is a likely time for the album to be released since it is all but finished. Here's the link to the website....

How many of these rumors have popped up since last summer?

 

KROQ might be more believeable, but we all may be a little more gullible after this wait.

OK. My local Alt. Station just said pretty much the same thing. So I called the DJ and asked his source. He got it from (he thinks) http://www.antimusic.com and even they're saying it's unconfirmed. But the fact that so many stations have picked up on this is a good sign. He also said that from what he knows, the band is VERY unhappy with EMI so they're 'not in a hurry to release the album'.

 

It sounds to me like this May date is EMI's, but that it may not happen due to the turmiol with EMI.

 

It's still speculation, but when it comes to money, labels will compromise rather than lose their top earners, so I'm not giving up hope yet.

 

EDIT: And it's looking more and more like Prospekt is the title. IT still sounds like a rapper name than an album title to me, but at least maybe we know now...maybe...

I was listening to the radio last night (Virgin radio in France, it's 96.1 where I live ) and Clocks was on at exactly 8.32pm. After the song the man from the radio said random news about the album, things we already know (42min, 11 songs.. blabla..) but he also added that it wouldnt be released before May 19th. So I was wondering : WHY The hell did he precisely say 'May 19th' ?? how does he know ?? and why everybody keeps mentionning this date ? there's gotta be something about it, right ??

This is driving me crazy !!! I NEED to know !!

You make some good points. Just because 'everyone' sais it, that doesn't make it true. The world-wide media might just be reacting en masse to a rumour. It's easy to believe it's likely because so many media outlets are all saying the same thing...but much of Europe agreed about the Jews based on a lie during World War II,lol.

 

It all depends on the original source. I wish we knew that. We'd have a better idea what to believe then.

 

Either way, I agree with you that it's going to be a really good album when ever it comes out, and right now, only the band/management know the truth.

I really REALLY want to believe this!

I hope it's true, seeing that it lists dozens of other artist releases aswell, and I've looked up a few that it lists, and the dates are correct.

But ofcourse, at this point, I'm prepared to believe anything that will shorten the waiting time.

 

But seriously, even if its not a credible source, this post excited me big time. Maybe its because I'm dog-tired, though (its 2:11am here).

today i was flicking through i think Qmag and there was a thing on coldplay (actually really just what's to come in 08...coldplay) and it said they don't know the album name...um they mentioned some of the song names (and that some were recorded in a church or something....) and it would be release in may/june, which sounds promising :D
