  1. With MX everywhere,on their clothes and website, and the fact Xylobrytes came up on the screen at Glastonbury would lead me to believe that this is true. Very strange album title but with spray paint, space, and UFOs as a theme I'm not surprised.
  2. Charlie Brown, Hurts Like Heaven, and Major Minus. Of what I can hear Princess of China sounds too poppy.
  3. As long as Jay-Z doesn't appear in the album it should be alright. This is only the lead single so let's all relax. Yeah it's different but IMO it's way better than the poppy Viva la Vida which to this day I can't stand! So let's see what the rest of the album is like before jumping to conclusions.

Thank you Pallavi. At least Im not the only one around here. Anyway I posted right before bed yesterday after a long frustrating couple of days on the forums. I checked in before work but didnt have much time to post so here I am. First off, the main reason I made this post is because these boards are full of fans who do not tolerate any criticism of the band. Read some of the threads I started and you'll see a lot of "why did you have to start a new thread to voice your opinion"...and so on. Not to mention a couple of fuck offs I received in numerous threads. I also received a private message from somebody who is scared of me (why I have no idea) and thinks I am crazy and who also asked me to leave the forum. This is what I get for expressing my opinion of the band? I created a thread last year stating the band was going in the wrong direction and I did not receive the backlash that I am now. I even had some fans agree with me stating that they were full of themselves. Go read the posts and see. Now Coldplay is releasing an album that sounds NOTHING like the band and old school fans are supposed to just accept it? The impression I am getting from reading the responses I am getting is that Coldplay can do what they want and they don't owe the fans anything. They can go in any direction they want and change their style and cater to new fans and fuck the fans who made them who they are? I am someone who only listens to rock music so how am I supposed to get into VLV? I am sure I am not the only Coldplay fan who feels the same way. Some of you maybe have more diversity in your music selection, but usually when you listen to alternative rock, you arent listening to hip-hop or whatever genre VLV is. So why would the band want to alienate those fans? You can evolve and change your music but you do not have to totally change your music where you are unrecognizable to not only the public who arent Coldplay fans but to diehard Colplday fans themselves. I am just having a hard time understanding why.

This will be my last post here because I am apparently upsetting too many people here. I will say my peace and move on. I thought we were allowed to express our acclaim and criticism of the band but apparently that is not the case. Maybe I went overboard but so did most of you. I did not attack anyone personally except that person from Boston because NY and BOS have a little rivalry if you didnt know. Anyway here it is... I didnt realize Coldplay fans were so yellow. Get it...Yellow? LOL! Actually I am still a Coldplay fan but B-VLV (Before VLV) so I guess I'm part Yellow too. Seriously everyone needs a chill pill. I am not getting upset here...you guys are. I'm entitled to my opinion so if I want to bash the band for creating music I think is shit than thats my right. For ignorant people like you who do not want me to bash your beloved band....just deal with it. The funny thing about all this is that all you are getting all bent out of shape and Im not. Being defensive is not a good sign. Seems like a lot of people are going overboard in saying good things about the songs. Things likethis is the best song ever or best Coldplay song ever! Gimme a break. What if there is a better song on the album. Will that be the best song ever ever? LOL! Or maybe best song in the history of music or the universe? You have to right to say you love the music and I have the right to say I hate it...end of story. By bashing myself and others you have created a forum that will only have positive posts so you are not getting both sides of the story. Do you think anyone will post any criticism of the band after reading some replies I have received? Dont think so. I have supported the band throughout the years by buying their CDs and DVDs and watching, listening, and sharing their music with as many people as possible. So for someone like me to feel like this then you so-called Coldplay fans should take notice. Plus its not only myself that feels this way, I am just more outspoken about it. Trust me I have shared this new music with some of my friends and they thought it was a joke. I stated right after X&Y that the band was headed in the wrong direction and I was right. I am just trying to understand why it is so easy for fans to embrace music that sounds nothing like the band they were fans of. If another band that you never heard of released this album I guarantee nobody would pay any attention to it. Anyway good luck everyone!
  7. Of course someone from Boston is crying. They are used to coming in 2nd behind NYC!!! BTW that comment has nothing to do with the Yankees because I am a Mets fan. Bitchass.
  8. Damn you people are sensitive. I have not once called out anyone on the forums but people love to call me out for speaking my mind. I have even been threatened with violence! LOL I am just speaking my mind and asking questions and all I am getting is bashed in return. God forbid I say anything negative about Coldplay. All those Coldplay haters were right...the band and all its fan base are nothing but stuck up pretentious bitches who think that whatever they do and say is the be all end all. It makes me sick that I have been on the same side as you assholes. I hope one day you will all realize the errors in your ways. Btw if you look around I am not the only one.
  9. no I'm saying coldplay is going to attract music fans who listen to emo and hip-hop. I'm not saying that it is their style. I would classify their music now as pop.
  10. Coldplay can release a hip-hop or dreaded country album and people will still buy it. Don't you think they know this? That's why they can afford to experiment and drag in new fans with this crap album and maybe lose a couple of sales from some of their loyal fans. Then their next album will have everyone's attention...especially the z100 crowd. Then what will they do? Will they go back to AROBTTH or continue to sellout. My guess is the later and old school fans will be disappointed again. I wouldnt be surprised if Timbaland produces the next album and if becomes a hip-hop slash pop album. Funny thing is that people on these boards will say how awesome the album is. LOL
  11. I agree that Bh&r wasn't as good as Absolution but there are some great songs on that album like the classic Knights of Cydonia, Starlight, and Exo Politics. All I'm saying is that Muse has maintained their edge even though they have changed styles. Coldplay hasn't for some reason. They have chosen to go in a very strange direction in which old school Coldplay fans won't be able to recognize them. The comment they made about people not liking their new music wasn't directed at the masses...but at us Coldplay fans who have been there since the beginning. So they knew they would alienate some of their fan base but still proceeded anyway. Why not because they can just replace us with new Coldplay fans who know nothing about music except for the pointless hip hop and emo music that is out today. To me that is a slap in the face.
  12. Amsterdam....or anything pre-VLV. Need to get my mind off what has happened.
  13. Coldplay is now considered pop. VLV is in no way shape or form a rock song. Its not even soft rock. Alternative rock has a certain style and edge to it which clearly they don't have anymore.
  14. So hes obviously hammered in that pic. Anyway I was referring to their music smartass. Nice try though!!!
  15. I agree. Muse has evolved and they do use synth sounds but they are brillant because they didn't drastically change their style of music. They keep getting better and better and Coldplay can't touch their lyrics. Wow what has happened to me? I have always liked Muse but not as much as Coldplay...until now. Guess that's what happens when a band sells out...I mean goes in a different direction. Mark my words...you won't be hearing Coldplay on any rock stations. Instead tune into any pop station to hear them. What a time we live in.
  16. I would...if i was a 16 year old girl. What happened to the good old days when Coldplay sang about real issues and the music was raw and they actually used instruments you can hear without straining yourself instead of using synth sounds? I just dong understand how fans can like one style of music like rock and all of a sudden like pop synth music. The key word is pop. You guys are right that some bands are using synth sounds , but those bands like Muse keep their masculinity.
  17. I don't remember Oasis using synths and selling out. They just keep releasing kickass music. I saw them at MSG...one of the best concerts Ive seen. Real rock music for men!
  18. Huh? Now I definately know everyone has gone delirious. Would someone please define what they think genre of music this is because this is not rock or alternative rock music. IMO Maroon 5 and Bon Jovi rock harder. A lot of my friends don't really listen to new music primarily because they say that the bands are shit now and just releasing pointless music just to sell albums. I always told them there are bands left who still give a shit...especially Coldplay. Now I look like a jackass.
  19. So the logic here I that's its ok if Coldplay alienates those fans who have followed and supported the band since the beginning as long as the get new fair weather fans? Its funny we are talking about Britney Spears because her fans and the fans of all those sellout pop groups will be the ones who will come onboard. Its obvious Coldplay is going for the younger, ignorant fan instead of older, knowledgeable fan. Guess this is the thanks we get for supporting the fan. Guys keep experimenting with your gay music...you'll have a legion of only women listening.
  20. This song belongs on Z100 or something. This is not an alternative rock song. Dejan dont cave in! I got your back!!! This song is absolute garbage and belongs in the same class as Madonnas music. Pathetic!!!
  21. Dont worry about the Coldplay haters...worry about us Coldplay fans who are becoming haters. If this album is making us stray....it wont convert new fans.
  22. ...and Im the close minded one? I am starting to see the side of the Coldplay haters for the 1st time in my life.
  23. Oh I'm crying alright.
  24. Who voted Boo here? Why arent they speaking their minds. Dont be afraid of the masses. They cant silence us.
  25. Hey I listen to everything. Just dont like my rock music or alternative rock music to contain synth sounds. Listening the VLV is making me want to go clubbing. OONTZ OONTZ OONTZ!!!
