busybeeburns
COLDPLAY - one of the world's greatest rock bands - have funded the purchase of a new piano for Moreton's St David's School, which suffered more damage in last July's floods than any other school in the country. The band gave St David's a £3,072-cheque to buy the red oak Kemble instrument, from Vale Pianos, because most of the school's musical instruments were destroyed in the floods. Coldplay made the gesture because they are keen to promote music in schools. Christina Windridge, St David's senior teaching assistant, said: "We are just so grateful to them because we have been able to use this money. The money that we would have had to use to pay for the piano has been used to buy other keyboard equipment." Coldplay are led by Chris Martin, the vocalist, pianist and guitarist married to Hollywood superstar Gwyneth Paltrow. The line-up is completed by lead guitarist Jonny Buckland, bassist Guy Berryman and drummer/multi-instrumentalist Will Champion. They have sold more than 30 million albums worldwide and their hit singles include Yellow, In My Place and Speed of Sound. http://www.cotswoldjournal.co.uk/display.var.2272433.0.cheers_to_coldplay.php

Mimixxx
^Yeah and why is it always married to actress Gwyneth Paltrow, like this defines him or something. Is never Will Champion, drummer and sometime vocalist married to school teacher Marianne. :dozey: Anyway I digress. What a lovely thing to do :nice: They're so kind :D
