I know we are all mixed up in the VLV craze but I was driving around today and heard the song on a local radio station.. I was thinking "what the hell"?? Has anyone else had their radio stations play this version of the song?

I haven't heard it on radio but one of my friends, who is nowhere near a Coldplay fan, had it in some random burnt cd :thinking:

The alt version of Talk is better in some ways from the album version. I much prefer the lyrics and intro guitar work in it, but I think I still prefer the Jonny solo in the album version better.

this was surely the demo version. this version wasn't supposed to be released or aired, but it found it way out of the studio. since the version is spread over the internet a few people have it, maybe also this radio station.

Yeah, I like the bass beat of the Alt. versions better..it kind of reminds me of the beat of "I Ran Away".

I'd email it to you but I'm at work right now. IMO the version cut from X&Y is >>> the version that made it in....but I'm not complaining because we can enjoy them both!

Think he means the version of talk that got leaked before X&Y was released, but got cut from the album.

if I'm n ot mistaken... thats the 1st version of Talk that was leaked back when X&Y was about to be released. I think its an ok version, but the album version is better.

If you are referring to the version that was released about two months before X&Y, that might be one of my top five favorite Coldplay songs ever. It's got a much better uptempo drum beat, bass line and lyrics, and probably the best bridge that Chris ever wrote. You can tell the difference because the Chorus of the unreleased Talk is the same line as the end of the album version ("So you don't know where you're going but you want to talk"). If you haven't heard this song, it's definitely worth seeking out.
