Officially known as the Games of the I Olympiad, they were the first modern international Olympic Games. I'm sure that if you dug deep enough, you'd be able to find a reason for any country not to stage the Olympics or World Cup. It should be up to the individual to decide whether their conscience allows them to participate or not.
