COLDPLAY "BORROWS" FROM ... KANYE WEST ????!!!!?!?!?! ....

Now, I'm not trying to pull the band's [Coldplay] card, or anything but, I just would like to enlighten most on, where their concert set designer's, "inspiration" probably came from for their MSG show with those circular, color changing, and video effecting objects otherwise known to most as "Magic Balls". Believe it or not, this element was first seen in the early spring of 2008 (April 16th to be exact) in Seattle, WA by none other than KANYE WEST.

Kicking off his critically acclaimed "Glow in the Dark" Tour, was an experience most [fans] revisited over and over due to the stage dynamics, complementary to the special arrangement of his hit songs, into a story-line that could've never been imagined for a Hip-Hop artist.

During his performance of the song "Flashing Lights", A group of "Magic Balls" (similar to the ones seen at the 6/23 MSG Show Coldplay held), elevates down to the stage, flashing different colors etc. the only difference is that Coldplay use the objects, as a titantron and also use video effects during their tour.

I just wanted to point this out because a lot of fans [Coldplay fans] bash hip-hop artist's especially Kanye, claiming he has lack for individuality based on the music sampling for his beats and, his constant award show tirades.

It is just nice to see that Hip-Hop is being respected as a stable genre that can lend its creativity to others in many aspects whether concert's or etc.

What do you guys think about it ????

I'm not trying to exploit or make bad of it, I just think its nice for us to start respecting the culture more [Hip-Hop].

I think its fitting considering Kanye is a fan of Coldplay and vice versa.... maybe they did use the same set designer...???

And thanks for the compliments I have alot more of those pics [Coldplay MSG]

i'm guessing the timescale is too small for them to have copied Kanye and incorporated it into the tour. so using the same set designer could potentially be the key. i'm thinking that the production time on the balls would be a lot longer than a month or two

I also think you might want to have a think about your thread title, sensational it may be but i'd also consider the libelous side of it...

Crap, so I guess my friend was right then about CP mimicking the balls. There goes that debate...:laugh3: :dozey:

I really like Kanye's music; he's one of the few hip-hop artists paving way for the genre to progress. No hate on his works at all; it's his pompous-ness that irritates me.

From the looks of the pics, Coldplay's balls are more colorful. Hurrah!

I don't think the timescale is too small at all being that Kanye's tour started in Spring ... April to be exact so considering that maybe they [Chris or whoever] could've been influenced after seeing a show or two in either LA or NYC .. who knows ... But I honestly doubt that the set designer is the key because Kanye has blogged about his tour and the people he has used for his set and for lighting and effects, he used the same engineers who program Daft Punk's lighting for his show.

Also my thread title is like that because "Controversy always sparks interest" ;)

and lawyers love thread titles like that because it makes them money. hence the reason all the news articles about that band alleged plagiarism, and mentioned that Coldplay had been accused of copying.

HAH I gotcha now ... LOL

Yea, I guess a change wouldn't be so bad then huh ??? ... LOL
