Obscure Parachutes era question...

Featured Replies

I'm helping a friend compile information on Jon's gear for a guitar website we're trying to get together. I think I've got it pretty much covered except for one thing-

During the Parachutes era, I know, Jon's main guitar was a blue telecaster JD, but did he also play another Tele live. I seem to remember a live picture of him with a different Tele (perhaps a backup). It was also blue, but alo had large silvery splotches on it. I think it was in the live photo section here, but can't find it now...

I know it's a really obscure question, but we really wnat our archive to be as complete as possible...

I'll have a dig through my pics when I'm home. I found these in Ian's galleries.

I figured it out!

It was the same blue Tele that was his main guitar. In this particular photo, smudges and fingerprints on it caught the light in such a way that it made it look like streaks in the finish. Blown up to large size (I only ever saw it as a thumbnail) they don't even look silver, or even that obvious...

Shrunk down, it really did look like metal wearing through the finish. And the glare makes the pickguard look metal as well.:laugh3:
