Russia May Focus on Pro-U.S. Ukraine After Georgia

Russian policy has made it quite clear what it wants to do. But then again American policy is very similar to Russian in that area. Don't get me wrong, im saying America is the good one, and a solution both Russia and America are making huge problems and doing bad things and have are planning out bad things.

This is why I don't talk political issues on message boards anymore, at least not on an international level. There's always a criss-cross of extremes in opinions. conspiracies loom everywhere, one person tells you 2+2=5 and ver next post says it equals 3. Tibet is a perfect example. I been told lengthy drawn out arguments on why china and/or tibet are corrupt in terms of the issue. everytime the argument is intelligently expressed and cited with very convincing yet extremely different sources.

The fact that the most absurd and biased ideas and/or lies can be expressed through such sensible arguments backed by false evidence has made me absurdly wary of so-called experts. The only safe path is to research the facts with the most neutral sources of information one can find, and even that leads to complications.

In this thread alone I'm told that CNN is very conservative and bush-friendly, when my experience has shown them to be very very critical of the presidency. I may be wrong, the problem is, no matter what your stance there's always someone out their who'll fight you most basic opinions to the death...and especially on an international forum where media sources and governments differ considerably there's really no point trying to convince anyone in another country of anything because there's no reason to believe the opinions and beliefs of other people on forum's like these. I may believe the sky to be blue, get swayed into seeing a greener shade and through heated debate settle on a ligh side of magenta.

:anxious:....

this subject is to controversial for me, but all i'm gonna say is:

"so i'm gonna buy a gun and start a war, if you can tell me something worth fighting for."

words we should live by. :D

The U.S. has long seen Georgia and Ukraine as counterweights to Russia's influence in the region. Opposition leaders in the two countries came to power after U.S.-backed popular protests in 2003 and 2004. Their ascension advanced an American strategy of expanding NATO to include both countries and securing energy routes from the Caspian Sea that bypass Russia. The BP Plc-led Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan oil pipeline to Turkey runs through Georgia.

*cough*

Right-wingers, at least extreme ones always accuse CNN of being a biased, manipulative left-wing mouth-piece. Left wingers always accuse it of being a biased, manipulative right-wing mouthpiece. Personally, I think that's pretty good proof that it's somewhat neutral, at least by polarized American standards. However it is still manipulative, sensationalistic and just plain shouty, and generally bad for anyone's mental health.
