Does Lovers in Japan use a Leslie Speaker?

Featured Replies

A few bits of it sure sound like it. I can't tell though if this is a function of the synths or an actual Leslie. Anyone know?

Maybe at one point in recording, but I doubt it live. Live it is easier to turn that sound into a MIDI and eliminate a piece of equipment. The days of keyboardists having 4-5 different keyboards in a rig are really gone with the advent of multi-purpose hammer action full weighted 88 keyboards and keyboard MIDI controllers. I would LOVE to see someone use a Hammond Organ live though.

There are pedals and MIDI devices that simulate Leslie's pretty well. (the Hughes and Kettner Rotosphre being perhaps the most well known example.)

I believe Oasis still uses a Vintage Hammond on stage, but I could be wrong on that. Their live keyboardist has a fairly old school setup with about 4 seperate keyboards.

that Rotosphere looks pretty kick ass, kinda want one now.

I"ve decided it's going to be the next pedal in my collection. I've almost got the money together now...
