August 29, 200817 yr Wow, I'm still a bit shocked... I was watching Friday's night Bundesliga match between Karlsruhe and Cologne with some of my friends when suddenly Ümit Özat (Turkey) collapsed right on the pitch. It's so horrible! :( At minute 24 he suddenly lost his consciousness. Mercifully the ambulance men could help him and he's now in hospital. It seems that Özat will survive according to the media. Cologne's coach moved to tears afterwards and players of both teams have been asked by the referee to continue the match or not. Both agreed. August 30, 200817 yr Scary, not quite as scary as Richard Zednik and Clint Malarchuk, but I'm not about to post that for even for the least faint of heart. Any word on his condition now?
August 30, 200817 yr Author Any word on his condition now? Ümit Özat is getting better now. :) Everybody's still shocked though and no one knows the reason so far. Even Turkish prime minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan called Özat in the hospital to ask for his condition as he probably watched the whole game yesterday.
