US shows - seated only? [2008]

Featured Replies

Hello everyone!

I'm new to this board and first of all want to say hi to everyone!

So anyway, I'm thinking of flying to New York to see the show in East Rutherford, NJ and maybe also the one in DC. When I was looking for tickets I noticed that there are no standing tickets?! All the shows in the US, at least the ones on the east coast don't seem to have standing...Am I right about that? I mean, what the heck, sitting at a Coldplay doesn't really sound like a lot of fun. And I don't understand it, the shows in Europe have standing...So, what's the deal with that?

Thank you for your answers!

Jonathan

I've been to a few show in NY and if you are on the floor, you stand the whole time except for the Newbie non real fans, most people do stand but if you are up a level or two lots of people sit, which i do not understand dammit. I had my 6 year old daughter on my shoulders at the Nassau Col. show and it was greatt. We were 3rd row. people loved it. I did get yelled at for standing and dancing at the Eric Clapton/Steve Winwood concert at the Garden but they were all old and stoned anyway so i told them to fuck off. what were they going to do. get up?
