Standing in line, the man and girl in the McDonald's queue at first appear to be having a quiet chat.

But trouble soon erupted after the pair got into a dispute over who was first in line to order their food.

After a heated argument, the man draws in closer to the girl before raising a fist and lashing out and punching her in the face.

The man and the girl get into an argument about who was first in the queue before he lashes out and punches her

Punching her again, the girl falls to the ground as the outraged man moves in to continue his attack by kicking her.

Shocked onlookers were quick to move out of the way but one brave diner dared to get between the man and the frightened youngster.

Clearly terrified, the girl gets up runs out of the restaurant with a friend while shocked diners continue to look on.

Now Los Angeles police are hunting the man who repeatedly assaulted the girl.

The victim was attacked while in line at the restaurant in Crenshaw Boulevard, South Los Angeles last month.

Police confirmed the girl was attacked following a queuing dispute.
