Fixed
I'm after a book about lyrics/songwriting, history of, how to write, examples of good writing, etc. Can anyone recommend me some good books? Thanks.
Tnspieler1012
LOL we have a ton of them back home. They're mostly just different authors variations on songwriting for dummies. I went through some of them, I might ask my Dad if any of them stand out particularly.
Mig-El
mmm are there books that give you lessons of songwiritting??? is it just for the metrics, rythms, the silabas (I don't know the word in english) in a line and those stuff or what?? cause I saw some of those things in school in my reading and redaction class but it was mostly about poems, not songs and I really thing that if you stick to those things like they're rules you have to follow to complete a song you write, that holds you back from really stamping on the paper what you want to and in the way you want to so that it's cool for you. Tnspieler1012
well we got a whole ton of stuff from the library like music composition for dummies and several guide's for writing better lyrics. Do a search or check a library or bookstore sometime.
Fixed
I don't actually know what I'm looking for. I don't want a "How to write a pop song" book per se - I've googled a few online courses that claim to be able to teach you how to write songs in 30 days or your money back, but that kind of thing is nonsense in my opinion. I'm more interested in the psychology, explanations of lyrics, sources of inspiration, that kind of thing.
