edward_kingdom
the last Coldplay album was A Rush Of Blood To The Head... I've been wondering this for such a really long time and I was not sure if I should make a thread for this... But I'm just really curious on your opinion... Because as far as I know we (Coldplayers) love all Coldplay albums and we understand their changing process and that they always try to surprise us and not to stay in the same sounds all the time (that's why their style has changed a little bit since they started). And we understand that, we love Coldplay anyways and their songs are amazing for us and they have gotten a really good position in the charts, critics, etc... But, I think that for the other people in general the best Coldplay album is A Rush Of Blood To The Head... I mean, my friends who doesnt know too much about their music love Clocks and The Scientist even if they're not to familiarized with them... So... let's suppose the first Coldplay album was Parachutes, then X&Y and then Viva La Vida (and they're recognized like one of the best bands in the world like they have done)... and now it is 2008 and they finally release A Rush Of Blood To The Head... It would have been different, don't you think?... I mean, it'll be like the album which would have taken them to the glory... (They already are, but I think that if the order was changed they would have gotten an even BETTER position than they do now).... And their hits like "In My Place" "The Scientist" or "Clocks" would have gotten even more success than they did in the past, because those were GREAT even if Coldplay was not too recognized at that time, so imagine releasing those singles with the success that they have now.... (I mean, I love Viva La Vida but in general I think people prefer AROBTTH (complete) than VLV I know it is confusing (and my English sucks), but I hope you understand me and I would really like to know your opinion. By the way I've been reading some threads and there's a smile upon my face for all the jokes and comments that you've said! :D thanks!
djibou
I understand your english perfectly =) Now let's hope you understand mine. I don't really think the same way as you for the following reasons. If Coldplay had released AROBTTH this year, as their last album, it wouldn't have the same impact as it had back in the time it was released. You know, music in general evolves, so are the tastes of people. The world in general was ready to hear A Rush of Blood To The Head when it came out, it was in harmony with the musical wave of that time and it hit people. They liked the songs of that album. I don't know a single person who never heard any songs from AROBTTH. If they had released VLVODAAHF back in 2002 instead of AROBTTH, people would not have been ready for that and they would just find these songs weird. Even if they had a lot of success because of Yellow in that time, they were still a new band, they were not yet a reference or a legend for soft rock fans. They could have destroyed their musical carreer with such an album with so much musical experiences on it, it would have been too risky for them at that time. And since a lot of people also think that X&Y was their worst album, it would not have helped Coldplay to release it before AROBTTH (even if Fix You is one of their most popular song). And my theory about music evolving applies in the X&Y case too. Hehe, sorry, that was bit long, but that's just my opinion, maybe you're right :) Anyways, take care and see ya! Szonj
Interesting thought... For me - might be among the few - X&Y is also a perfect alkbum. With A Message, X&Y, Talk etc etc... I love it so much. I agree with MariePeter18 in the thing that VLV released earlier might have been kinda too early... The thing is that I think Coldplay will not shortly be a band that gains the huuuge commercial success, and I am not even sad about that. I mean they seem to be happy as rhey are and I feel like more like a member of a family than part of a crazy fanbase... (though our comments are crazy here, yeah ur right coldplayer_rh)... and it feels so good to know I value something that not taht maaaaaaaaaaaaaany people see how good is :D
djibou
(OH MY! I so agree with you, I am part of the few who are in love with X&Y!!!! :D) and I agree with you too. even if Coldplay becomes kind of commercial with time, there are still fans who will appreciate their talent without taking the 'commercial part' in consideration :) and hooray for Coldplay's family :)! edward_kingdom
Hey thanks for your comments... I was thinking on that too much and now that I've seen your opinions I've changed my mind... I mean, I think you're right Marie Peter, we are not in the same time, the taste evolves and the people thoughts... the music is changing constantly and now that I'm trying to thing again what would have happened with a different order... I find it kind of weird.... I think this it was just the way IT HAD TO... it wouldnt' be the same if it was different... And by the way I'm also in love with X&Y (even if it was the most criticized...) I just love it, all the songs, the different sounds and the lyrics are just awesome! And I'm totally agree also with Szonj that if Coldplay loses popularity with the time... I WONT really care, because I love their music and their style, and they'll continue being my favorite and beloved band! :D!!!

nihcoldplay
i think that's why VLV is amazing, coldplay knew the time to reinvet without losing their personality, and they did it really well.

If they would have come out with VLVODAAHF in those times, people would just have thought it was weird and would have put it aside. Well, of course, that's my opinion, but I could be wrong :P
edward_kingdom
What I think now is that if Coldplay would have released the albums in different order, they just wouldn't have gotten the popularity they have now... But now I don't care on popularity or commercial success anymore... Because I love the same way Viva La Vida than I do with Sparks, or White Shadows, or Politik.... I even love the same way I Ran Away, Only Superstition... or Glass Of Water... I think that it doesnt matter the time when the song or the album was released... all those songs have had their own season for me. But thanks for your comments, it's good to know different opinions. Stefan8
Viva la Vida is not possible without AROBTTH, another order of albums could have never happened.

That's what I think now, haha... I was just curious, but now I that I've thought about better I think things are the way they have to and it is the best it could have been.
