HorrificAttack
If you know who Charlie Brooker is, I don't really have to say much more than "he wrote it" and you should be looking for ways to watch this show It sounds really shit if you describe it, but it's absolutely amazing, best thing I have ever seen on E4 It surrounds Big Brother, but there is a huge twist, Zombies are taking over the UK. The housemates are totally oblivious to this fact and they go about their pathetic Big Brother lives as the world turns to shit around them, that is until one of the production crew gets into the house covered in blood wielding a pair of scissors. Seriously, watch it. http://rapidshare.com/files/158190519/dead.set.s01e01.ws.pdtv.xvid-river.part1.rar http://rapidshare.com/files/158190611/dead.set.s01e01.ws.pdtv.xvid-river.part2.rar Download links to the first episode ^^ or it should be on 4OD

stemot1978
This show was brilliant, not so sure of the end, though I guess it was the only way it could end. Just waiting for my DVD of it to arrive now.

HorrificAttack
Since when could zombies run? If you read his interview, sometime around 2002, when people decided things that could barely walk weren't actually that scary.
a_face_of_light
I find proper zombies scary!!, I think the main thing behind it is how bad it would be to end up like that? that I find scary. I know in 28 Days they can run, and run damn fast but they arn't zombies in those movies thier just humans infected with a 'Rage Virus' I don't think I can remember any other zombie movies where they can run etc

I know in 28 Days they can run, and run damn fast but they arn't zombies in those movies thier just humans infected with a 'Rage Virus' I don't think I can remember any other zombie movies where they can run etc Well what is a Zombie? They were eating people in 28 days later, remember at the end they die of starvation? It didn't just make them angry. Dead Set was like inbetween that and convention, they weren't really fast but they could move. If you actually see the original Night of the Living Dead (which was referenced in Dead Set) the "zombies" actually move reasonably fast, they can't run but they don't shuffle along, particularly in the first encounter, where she gets chased across a graveyard by one of them. Then in the orignal Dawn of the Dead they became slow, but that was to make the point that people underestimate them because they are so stupid and slow, but when you underestimate them, you die, the sheer number of them will kill you. I don't prefer either type, I think they both suit different kinds of movie and I believe the running Zombies worked for Dead Set and I don't see why it should have to stick to set rules, Zombies are fictonal and can be modified any way the writer sees fit. Vampires are a prime example of that, there are so many different kinds of vampire.

I've always considered proper zombies to be the shuffling type more, as re animated corpses with no inteligence that want to kill and eat humans, I found 28 Days a lot more scary in that respect as they could run and some of 'the infected' showed inteligence too. With Vampires I just don't find them scary at all, ending up as a vampire wouldn't be a bad thing eternal youth(the shallow side of me I guess :p), superstrengh, super agility and ability to heal etc, yes not being able to go out in the daytime would be a huge minus but in honesty I just don't find vampires(particularly thier modern portrayals) remotly scary whereas with zombies I do infinatly more and the 28 Days infected even more so. HorrificAttack
You think they showed intelligence? They were still only functioning by the need to feed. I don't even wanna talk about 28 weeks, that film actually made me hate Hollywood. Taking a completely British film and Americanising the fuck out of it. The fact that their dad kept appearing all over was AWFUL, it was like he was the leader of the zombies or something and the ending...terrible. Well that's the point I was making, what you just described there as a vampire is not what I would say when I was asked to describe one, you wouldn't mind the whole having to drink people's blood to stay alive thing then? I don't find them scary either, but I like the idea of them being these really tortured souls who hate their existence but can't do anything about it

It wouldn't really bother me having to drink peoples blood to survive when you look at the plus sides:P
HorrificAttack
Yeah but I refuse to accept that whole stalking shit as a valid point as I pretty much wiped it from my brain after seeing the movie. I love the irony of you complaining about Americanisation and then spelling it the American way  Like I said though, it's not a laugh being a vampire, not by my definition anyway (which is the best definition)
