I can't remember whether it was my favourite album' date=' but it was definitely my favourite song of their's. I think I preferred 'Piece of Mind' and 'Number of the Beast' as albums.[/quote']

Run to the hills in Rock in Rio!! that was awesome!!!

awesome!!! but bruce dickinson has his voice funny!!! i don't know...

Really? I think it was pretty good.

It went through a bad phase in the late '80s/early 90s, but then it was back to normal when the band reunited in 2000.

I know! but maybe were the fucking drugs that made his voice some creepy! but is awesome still!

it amazes me how you dissappear for ages.. and yet your thread is still ever so popular... lol

Henners, you are a gem, a gem indeed!

I think it was more the case that his heart wasn't in the band anymore. He revealed after leaving the band in '93 that he started to lose interest way back during the recording of the 'Somewhere in Time' album ('86). In fact the whole band almost stopped as a result of the huge Powerslave world tour, which completely physically and mentally exhausted them.

Anyhoo..Bruce wanted to try new things with the band, because he had these complex ideas, but Steve Harris wouldn't try 'em out.

As a result he probably didn't take care of his voice like he should have, and as you mentioned, there were probably drugs involved.

But actually I think his voice really suits the music on the 'Fear of the Dark' album ('92)...then again it sounded awful on the live album that followed. Oh well.

MuMu: Pssh, it's not popular. It's only been saved from oblivion because of you two, and LS. :p

I will make it my goal to keep this thread alive if it means I am graced with your loverly hair everyday... I mean, words.. yes lovely words everyday. :)
