Coldplay song used on American Idol

Featured Replies

I just overhead both Lost? and Lost! being used in the background of the first episode of American Idol Season 8

I don't normally watch that programme but when I heard Chris' singing I stopped in my tracks and sat down in front of the TV :laugh3:

Didn't watch, but last night was the auditions with all the horrible people, right? The important thing is that Coldplay wasn't actually sung by a contestant. :D

I saw that too! It's funny, because I also don't normally watch American Idol, but the one time I do, they play Coldplay!

The way they did it was nice, first they played Lost? when they were telling the story of this blind kid who was a pianist and ended up having a great voice, and then they kind of put Lost? and Lost! together when they showed a little montage of all the people who got through to the next round. :nice:

yeah I saw that too! I love when Coldplay pops up in random places :D

I recognised Chris piano right away! It was nice they used that song for the background and then went into Jonny part... cool! :)

Well as the vast majority of the auditionees have "lost" touch with reality, I'm sure it was extremely appropriate!
