TryWhistlingThis
Just a pretty quick question and thread, last night at the Melbourne Gig, before getting into Strawberry Swing, Chris mentioned that he had written this song in Melbourne. Has anyone heard him say this before? I have a feeling he was just being nice as the last time he was in Melbourne would have been around 2005 or 2006. Given that he's a prolific writer, I doubt he would have held onto that song for 2 or 3 years only to contribute them to the VIVA sessions since he would have written so much material in between. Any thoughts?
Cobalt
He's never mentioned much about the writing of it before.
Andy14
I do remember an interview around the Viva release where he said the riff had been around for quite some time.
strawberryswinger
it can betrue, since he says that viva la vida (song) was written in 2003 or 2004 (cant remember the exact time)
century-letters
Yeah, didn't they record a demo of Viva in 2005? It is quite possible that SS was written in 2006, and possibly in Melbourne. Can you imagine a perfect Autumn day in Melbourne, "it's such a perfect day".
