Just curious. We've already heard from Ed, that they're working on a new album so they'll be in the studio soon. Also Radiohead is known for taking old songs and putting them on albums (Nude, I Will, 4 Minute Warning, Last Flowers, Life In a Glasshouse, etc). My question is, of the Unreleased songs they have, which ones would you like to appear on the album the most? I'm only going to include songs that we have full versions of, and not snippits (ex. Burn the Witch, Wake Me (Before they Come), etc.)

I picked Big Boots, Follow Me Around, and Feeling Pulled Apart By Horses. As much as I'd like to see Lift, I don't know if they could pull it off... i mean the PinkPop performance is so amazing, and it's Thom's Bends era voice... i just don't think they'd be able to do it. I still feel that they could do the two 'lost classics' (BB, FMA). Honestly I'd like to see pretty much any of these unreleased songs done.

Somewhat predictable but:

Big Boots - would be nice if they could finish it off. I love the lyrics and the musical ideas they've thrown around in this one.

 

Follow Me Around - Absolutely love this one, and I think it would still be relevant to release it on an upcoming album.

 

Lift - Good point made up above about how its hard to beat the PinkPop version and I agree. I guess I would just love to hear a version with clearer guitars and drumming.

Yeah i see what you mean about the gutiars/drumming for lift... too bad they didn't recording around the time of pinkpop. i dunno if you heard the 2002 version of lift... it's not the same and a lot slower (good thing the band didn't continue with that version)

 

even though i didn't include it the song that i'm really hoping they do something with is the soundcheck song fan-titled "Wake Me (Before They Come)"... i dunno what it is about the song, i just like it a lot!

Yeah, I definitely like the earlier version of Lift as well.

 

Burn the Witch seems like a cool idea as well.

Its interesting cool how with Radiohead there are so many unreleased songs out there that people are dieing to hear...and that they've teased us with through lyric postings, or sound checks, etc.

I don't know of many bands that have that much quality stuff that they could still release.

I'm hoping that someday Radiohead will do something like The Beatles did with their anthology and having unreleased/rare/remix/studio takes of stuff... it'd be great! Of course though it'd probably be something after the band breaks up, so i think i can wait quite a while for something like that to be released ;)

I'm sure EMI wishes they could get their hands on some of the unreleased stuff :P

you kidding?.... if they could they'd have a field day, releasing an unreleased album, then a few months later a deluxe unreleased material album... then a few months later the same thing but with bonus dvd footage.

 

EMI...(really Guy Hands)... know how to treat the bands that made them so rich so well :rolleyes:

And then they could re-issue it all in vinyl!

And then in digi-pak!

haha... and by that point in time they'll be an entirely new media outlet (like how dvd replaced vhs), and then they can release everything on that all over again.

Hopefully by that time Guy Hands will have driven EMI into the ground completely.
