Australian radio station triple j is about to hold the worlds biggest music poll. they want you to vote for your favourite songs of all time!! the focus here is on alternative music but you can vote for anyone you like. in their early days (Parachutes and AROBTTH) Coldplay were massively popular on this radio station and were very successful in their annual music polls (which get around a million votes every year). Here is a summary of Coldplay's success.

Not many bands have been as sucessful in the last 10 years. Especially bands with as much mainstream success as Coldplay.

 

I've got the feeling that if everyone on this forum gets behind Yellow and Clocks (even if they aren't your favourite coldplay songs) we can get both of them into the top 20 alongside songs like Stairway To Heaven and Love Will Tear Us Apart and Beautiful Day. i know this doesn't mean that much in the big picture but personally i would love it if one of my favourite bands did well in this countdown.

Voting opens on June 1 and will close towards the end of the month. You will get 10 votes but i'm sure most of us have multiple email accounts (school, work, secret) so if you want you can vote for coldplay (and other bands you like) 50 times.

cmon 5 people voting wont get them anywhere near the top 100. we're going up against some of the biggest bands in history here. Led Zeppelin, Pearl jam, Nirvana, Red Hot Chili Peppers. Metallica, U2 and the list goes on.

 

and you dont have to be aussie to vote for them. anyone anywhere in the world can!!

 

dont forget THIS IS THE BIGGEST MUSIC POLL IN THE WORLD!!! it does mean something. it would be kinda wrong if the biggest band in the world at the moment didnt even make it in.

ah...Triple J...my radio was always tuned to them when i was at uni down under. & Triple J was where i discovered good Aussie stuff like Powderfinger. :)

 

so...yeah, i'm game to plonk my vote in for Coldplay too when it's open.
