They are undoubtedly far and away the biggest band in the world no. It's official. U2 and Green Day haven't continued their successes of their last album, but Coldplay have. Surely the biggest means the best? Or does it? I see Coldplay's success is evidence of them being the best band in the world.

 

A lot of ignorant fools out there dislike Coldplay because they here songs like Speed Of Sound or Viva La Vida and think... "blah!" What they don't realise is the higher standard of quality that lies beneath those songs in their respective albums. Sure SOS and VLV are the most striking on first listens, but for me what makes Coldplay the best band in the world is the sheer class that we don't get to here on radio. The likes of songs such as A Rush Of Blood To The Head, High Speed, Sqaure One, Cemetries Of London.... I could go one forever. They are all songs that are just music at it's highest class. It's why people like you and me consider Coldplay the best. We know why they're the best, the people outside of Coldplay don't know how fantastic they really are.

whenever i hear coldplay music on the radio, its always VLV or Talk. if they played other songs, people might realize what a great group they are :)
