it's pure Sanskrit...but it's cognisant to people speaking Gujarati (my mother tongue) or Hindi, or a few other languages that are all dauther-languages to Sanskrit.

 

There's a nice article in today's New York Times on the history of language....though I feel it's controversial....'cuz I have my own ideas about the history of language formation and propagation... :smug:

Sanskrit's grammatical structure is such that many words are built on other, smaller words....
