Sparks22
Does anyone of you also like A whisper? Don't you think it's one of their most underrated songs ever? At first I really did not like this song for a long time while listening to A rush of blood to the head. I've always skipped it but then I "forced" myself to listen to it while driving and after a few times I began to like it. Now I think this is one of the most special songs they ever made. It's outstanding because Chris' voice and the melody is in the background but nevertheless their is a certain dynamic to it that I can't describe in technical terms, because I'm no professional musician. However to my ears the instrumental arranging (especially the guitars) is so following and everytime you listen closely to this song you can discover so much new facets in it. It underlines the lyrics very well, that there is the fear of time fading away.
I Bloom Blaum
I also am a huge fan of A Whisper, which I think is one of their most underrated songs! I agree with everything you said, and Chris's voice sounds so hypnotic, and the 'swinging' (dunno if that's the right word) feel of the guitar throughout the song except for the 'chorus' ("I hear the sound of the ticking of clocks...") just makes the song so great! I also love Daylight, another underrated song off the album in my opinion...
Sparks22
I also am a huge fan of A Whisper, which I think is one of their most underrated songs! I also love Daylight, another underrated song off the album in my opinion... At least I know what you mean by swinging ;) - you're right that's the greatest part of it. Yep Daylight is also a song that you have to listen to a lot of times to like it. Although the chorus is not my favorite one, I love the verses - they are so great with the bassline and the other instrumental parts of it. At the end I love the piano and the repeating of "slowly breaking through the daylight" so following... - they should do something like that on their next album. I love Viva la vida but I think in a musical way it's a bit superficial.
Open-Politik
Daylight=Superb, A whisper is good, you have to kinda be in the mood, there are worse songs though that a load of Coldplay fans like. Its weird.:(
w1ll1am7
that's true. A Whisper is good, definitely the chorus is powerful. I love all aspects of Daylight, could have been a single in my opinion
Pockets
Whisper really is an amazing song. I don't get why a lot of people don't like it.
Ohemul
I love A whisper! It's one of my very favourites. It's so powerful, and i love the lyrics. And it's dreaming in a strange way, which makes it even better. It's underrated, indeed.
