At some point in the vid, you can hear some people shushing others in the audience, I guess only the first rows could hear the band properly with all the clapping, whistling, and even singing coming from the crowd, sorry for them... (I couldn't care less at the time, I was clapping away myself :D)

I was up, clapping and singing (badly :laugh3:)

Aurélie, I can't believe it's already been a week...

me neither...

this gig was so unique, I feel privileged to have witnessed it...it was SO everything a gig should be..!! I think from now on, it will be my 'measure' for others to come...

well, it's gonna hard to compete with it  I'm willing to do plenty of gigs to compare though, I cannot get enough of music! ^^

Reminds me of the "special bookshelf" that Moun would have loved at the HMV: if I'm correct, it was Dave Grohl /Muse /Greenday ;)

Btw, I know there's a story going with the V Festival, DG was in the crowd, and at the end of one song, Gary dedicated it to him, so DG went on stage and they hugged. Didn't managed to find the video though...

Lucky girl!! LovelyG don't like twitter, he thinks it restrics the english language and that we might as well bark at each other :laugh3: (and considering the length of his blog's posts, it's no surprise he can't say anything in 140 caracters  the guy is such a babbler...!)

Yeah, we were wandering throuth the alleys of the store, and the three books were set next to each other, as if waiting for Moun! :p

Yes, it's amazing "how well you can play music when you're 9!"

Jonkil was kinda good by the way, good enough to warm-up the crowd before TP anyway ^^! (the guitarist at the right of the stage made me think of young J.Buckland, especially with the way he moved)

I was mostly looking at the drummer *soft spot for them...btw, was pissed not to see Richard well because of the giant who was bloking my view T.T* He was on fire! Their music reminded me of Vampire WE. Beachy stuff!

what an interesting way to see things

He said that in Q (the issue on artist of the century)

couldn't really see Richard either... had a couple in front of me, they often leant toward each other to say some things (and blocked my view of G... ><) and the woman had a really high ponytail!... (she lowered it during the gig though)

I had filmed the drummer of Jonkil during one of his solo, but had to delete it later in the night to make some space for TP :/

He said that in Q (the issue on artist of the century)

I also read it in the SP board, and it was quoted elsewhere as well... You can quote him in every situation anyway!^^

"artist of the century", yeah!)

"artist of the century", yeah!)

Yeah, I often buy Q, they talked about my favorites artists all the time  In that issue, there were 'artists of the century' such as Coldplay, Florence, Kings of Leon, U2, Snow Patrol, Mika, etc.. with ITV with it...so I HAD to buy it! There is a little ITV of G (they gave nickname to each artists and G was 'the Celt' (I think it's a ref to both his origins and the 'celt' sticker he put on his guitars) and in the intro, they called him 'Snow Patrol genial leader'.... :smug: Need to say more?! Here the scan http://img28.imageshack.us/img28/9673/glq2.jpg

That's so true... :smug:

So here some epicness....

That one is a shared memory with V...Epicness starts around 2min30 till the end... Just a great exemple on how a band and his audience can feed on each other! Magical!

and I concluded with another shared memory with V again... very emotionnal that one... This song just breaks my heart...Tom Smith's haunting voice, the lyrics " when falling feels like flying, there’s a dangerous hope...cause the ground comes at you faster than you’d think...' and seing it live, with Gary all emotionnal while playing (look at his face, eyes closed, totally sinkin in Tom's performance and at the very end, his face, like 'OMG, WAOUHHH'....just :bigcry: + shiver

& Tom Smith  He's amazing !!

He IS!! :awesome: He played piano and typewritter (yes, I'm not kidding  ) on a bunch of songs and his girlfriend Edith Bowman (the journalist) sang backupvocals on the last song of the show.

He also sang a cover of 'cold blooded old times' (with Gary still in fangirl mode *cute*). Just amazing, this type of country songs really suits his voice!

This gig was a real revelation to me. I already loved SP, but seeing them live gave another dimension to their music, they are just amazing! Very generous, kind and adorable with their fans! "Shut Your Eyes" was one of my fav part of the concert! ^^

Tom Smith has an amazing voice, and this "duet" with Gary on the guitare was perfect! This song is heartbreaking

Here are some funny/epic/emotional moments from the gigs I went to this year.

The Cranberries, shared with Cam and Mounira. Great atmosphere, so close to the band, and infected by Cam's enthousiasm of course ^^

"Dreams" was one of my fav moment, first because I love the song, and it was the last one, so everyone just went crazy on it! I can still picture Moun & I jumping up and down :)

Mika was a good surprise! It's not a gig, it's a real show!.. with many people on stage (musicians, choristes and fans, wearing costumes and playing extras ^^) A 2h30 long gig full of magic, with an audience on fire, playing with sticks, balloons and confettis :p

Snow Patrol, a shared memory with Aurélie... amazing gig! the setlist was close to perfection to me, and it was great to see them in a rather intimate venue! (+ first meeting with A... and Gary! ;)) It may be a little 'cliché' to choose those two songs, but Chasing Cars and Run will always make me shiver live

Tired Pony is the most unique concert I've ever witnessed! Everything about it was magical... being in London, in a small and very intimate venue, with a bunch of very talented musicians, and breathtaking songs... :bigcry: All the gig was about complicity: between the members of the band, between the band and the audience... I had the best of time, and it was great to share it with Aurélie

I have to post Get On The Road again, most emotional part of the show for me, the video speaks for itself

Same here. I can understand why people have a tendency to bash them (not original, 'coldplay for the poor' etc... :whip: ) but they give so much more than 'easy hit songs' (seriously, Gary is one of the most talented songwriter out there!), they give their all, the 10 years they struggled to made it, you can feel how much they love playing and make people having a good time...They always play like it was the first time, with the same joy and enthousiasm... THEY ROCK :smug:

I won't put vids of the PdP (the DVD is better :P ) but here's one of the accoustic show in Le Cirque d'Hiver (@V : I was with Aline that you saw at the SP gig). It was craaaaaazy and made a little girl dance on his piano, it was so cute I filmed it!

The fire, the wine, the bed and you....In this crimson light I find the truth..And the truth is like a punch or two....It hits you hard it knocks you through (...)

Kiss like a fight that neither wins....A tender payment for our sins....You are the drug that I can't quit....Your perfect chaos is perfect fit.

:bigcry: Gary how can you write such beautiful things?!!

Last year, had my fan moment with my bro in law at the U2 gig...I totally lost it on on Pride XD (which is one of my fav) and the crowd singing so loud the chorus... *shiver*

Those lyrics are killing me... I'll always remember the live performance, I just couldn't take my eyes off of them... (met Lisa's eyes a couple of times, so intimidating...)

When I think about it, everything was epic about that night, even after the show! So many things about, so many little details made it special.. and funny! (drunken fans, drunken violonist, mysterious photographer from upper window, harassing fan, exploration of every single spot of the street, G's voice behind the door, etc :p)
