"The past month has been very difficult for my family, my friends and my colleagues back in Cambridge, and it's no exaggeration to say that it wouldn't be as easy for me to handle this without the support from the Fraternal Order of Police ... and the support that the men and women who do this job have given me," Crowley said. "Thank you very much."

He was charged with disorderly conduct after police said he yelled at Crowley, accused him of racial bias and refused to calm down after Crowley demanded Gates show him identification. The charge was later dropped, but Gates demanded an apology and called the incident racial profiling.

Ohh, it's sooooo difficult being a cop in these modern times! Always being accused of racism, when you were only doing your job - arresting people on their own property for "disorderly conduct"! The cop is a misunderstood creature... he just wants to be left alone, free to garden, cook, and taser civilians who pose no serious threat to himself or those around him.

I know his fellow officers will provide him with the comfort he needs during this difficult and trying time in his life! He's got the whole world out to get him! He stands undaunted, however, his face to the sun, the wind at his back! Hold the flag high! Never surrender, Mr. Crowley!

Pardon me while I go to the bathroom, I've got something in my eyes. I think cutting up an onion earlier for the quiche...that's what did it. *runs away*

I hate everyone in this case. I hate the asshole cop and I hate the asshole professor.

The professor obviously has the first signs of mad-cow disease, because if he were halfway smart he would have used a libertarian ethics argument against the cop rather than resorting to the kneejerk reflex of shrieking

It's like pooping and digesting, some people do it without even thinking.
