Forty per cent of French men think they're the best lovers in Europe (shame French women don't feel the same!)

Almost 40 per cent of French men believe they are the best lovers in Europe, a new survey has revealed.

 

The study also found 43 per cent of Gallic males think they are the most romantic men on the continent.

 

Another 42 per cent think they are the funniest and three out of ten believe they are the most intelligent.

 

But the research revealed French women do not hold quite such a high opinion of their nation's men as they do of themselves.

 

The YouGov survey for online retailers Kelkoo found 26 per cent of French women rate Italians as Europe's most attentive lovers, and only 22 per cent consider French men best between the sheets.

 

In Britain, 17 per cent of men and women voted the Italians as the best lovers, with the French in second place on ten per cent.

 

The modest British put themselves in third place on seven per cent.

 

But men and women in both Britain and France all agreed on the most important ingredients for a lasting relationship.

 

Four out of ten said it was loyalty and sincerity, while 35 per cent said it was having common interests.

 

Researchers quizzed 2,000 French adults and 2,100 Britons in January this year.
