TheNextChris
So today I've decided that I can't transcribe or write solos to save my life. I'm taking guitar lessons soon, but what is a good resource to read to start learning to solo?
moss
I learnt by working out riffs/licks from tabs and by just playing simple melody's to the radio/tv etc and then adding solo techniques (hammer/pull/bend). After a while your fingers learn where to go.
Swallowed Seaman
If you have a music store nearby that sells books like "Blues guitar classics," or whatever genre you prefer, those usually have great exemplary tabs that demonstrate individual forms and styles and such. Little technical snippets here and there too. Basically by reading and playing tabs that you can play, you'll get closer and closer to being able to do so yourself.
