Tuning with capo

Featured Replies

As some of you guys know, I've had troubles with tuning for my strings always snap, so to prevent or reduce this from happening, I just tune with a capo at the first fret. So far it works for me, but I was wondering if there's anything wrong in doing this.

most songs i've seen (which use capo) are usually tuning on 3rd fret.

althought if the song you are trying to play is tunned on a very different key, then that's another matter. then is better to have different guitars tunned in those different keys. But if you use to play a certain style i don't think you'll need that as most them will be tunned on the same key.
