Do you think in your accent?

Featured Replies

For me my thinking voice is kind of a mental projection of my real voice, so I'd say yes.

^ That.

I only think in a spanish accent. It throws me off since I'm not spanish. That's why I don't think.

To answer the question, yes.

Well, people from other countries from their perspective, I have an "American" accent, so I suppose I can't dispute that. But from within the States, where I'm from (most) people don't have an accent compared to other parts of the country. No "northern" (yooper, Minnesota, etc.) accent, no southern accent, no Brooklyn accent, Boston, etc. So if you watch the national news stations here, most of the news anchors have "no accent"; and a few months ago I heard one of the morning news anchors say they had to have vocal training to have "no accent". :freak: That's the best way I can describe it.

Yeah, me too. (I'm from New Jersey)

And no, we don't speak like those idiots from the Jersey Shore. Who aren't even from NJ. :phu:

Here, we speak a lot like the Midwestern people, with only veeeeeerrrryyyy slight differences in pronunciation.

You Midwestern people, you.

I don't talk with an accent. Most Americans and Canadians talk w2ith a monotone. Some may talk faster or slower, but it is smen version of monotone. People in most parts of England have a nice accent. People who English is their second language have accents.

Northerners may think they have no accent but they do sound a little funny to me.

hey illuvcoldplay, do you think in a barbadian accent?

NO U KELSIE

Lawl I wonder the same!

NO U CRESTS

Good that you answered again because we didn't get it the first time or the second time.

:thinking:ok so my internet is slow where I'm staying in copenhagen and didnt show that i had posted already so don't act as if

Well, that's merely because we're Southerners. If we both lived up north, I'm sure we'd think that was normal.

Northern northerners definitely have an accent. Half-ass northerners... not so much.

Basically, if you go to the upper peninsula of Michigan, you might as well be in Minnesota or Canada or something like that... eh?

Yeah, Midwestern people. :veryangry2:

:phu:

I say eh all the time actually haha.

There's no such thing as not having an accent though.

but i don't say aboot

Really? :surprised:

A guy I work with lives in Canada and travels here each day (it only takes a half hour), and he says "aboot". There's also something else he says that screams Canadian but I can't think of it at the moment.

I think in my accent. since an american accent is the only accent I am familiure with.

I always try to think in English, but when I'm tired I think in Dutch (not relevant, but I don't care :D)
