It's got nothing to do with whether the guy would hesitate to ask for it, the point that they might be too sheepish to ask for it was just an add-on, the main thing for yourself is that you're more then happy to keep something that isn't yours, not even giving it a 2nd thought. It's as if the fact he's forgotten has justified it as being fine. If he dropped a 50 dollar note in the hallway and didn't notice, would you pocket it? Honestly?

 

I don't know what you need to do, read a book on ethics or something.
