Just thought I'd start this as there seems to be no official cricket thread on here apart from the Ashes and World Cup ones from earlier this year.

 

Just seen England obliterate Sri Lanka bowling them all out in just over two hours for 82 on the last day of the 1st test - delayed by rain yet again. Sri Lanka started the 2nd innings 96 runs behind England's 1st innings total of 496 when everyone was expecting them to bat out the test for a pointless and bore draw! But England had other ideas! Brilliant test match. That's why I prefer test cricket over the shorter forms of the game. When it's bad it's bad but when it's good it is amazing!

we usually don't agree on much (if anything :laugh3:) but i'm totally with you there. test match will always be the purest truest form of the game.

294 is incredible! Disappointment in him not getting to 300 but regardless the most professional batting performance you're likely to see. Amazed how defensive India were in the field. Cook barely scored many 4s. Complete disaster when India, supposedly number 1 before this test series, are trying to slow the match down to a halt. They've been pretty abysmal but take nothing away from England. They've made them abysmal.
