Hello everybody!

 

I am planing to start playing some awesome songs, especially Coldplay, and I would like to write them myself on a piano music sheet. The only problem is that doing that on paper is almost suicidal, so I've decided to ask you - the awesome Coldplaying community - to tell me a simple computer program (and link) that is able to do that.

problem is, stuff is expensive

 

you may want to try tuxguitar, it's free and does not only tabs but also sheet music.

i recommend a keyboard/epiano with midi ports or even usb so you can hook it up with your computer. you can record midi files which already gives you the exact sheety of what you have played. TOO exact, so adjustments have to be made in a few places, but well, it gets the job done for you in no time - actually the time you need to play it!

 

give the midi stuff a try, maybe visit a local store for musical instruments & equipment, they will have everything you need and can give you direct advises.

When I notate music, I use noteflight.com. It's online, so you can't access it offline, but it's easy, free, and can play the parts. The premium membership has more instruments, but if all you need is piano the free membership has that. Good luck :)

Well I use Guitar Pro 5 to tab, but you can also use this for write sheet music, also you can reproduce your melodies that you create adn is very easy to use.

Thank You! I will try TuxGuitar, but I can't do the MIDI thing, because I have a Upright Piano.

Thanks, but I have bad news for you. I have a Upright Piano in a room where there is no Internet, so...

Thanks! I'm trying it as I'm writing this, but I have a problem: There is an ID thing. What is this? How can I get rid of this?

tuxguitar can be used for piano, too, yes. you can change the settings for the sheets so only the normal lines will be displayed without tabs, but i don't know it exactly since i haven't used in ages...^^
