This phase has lasted for like 5 years and only gotten worse so...

 

Omfg, 5 years? Viva La Vida had some really good songs man... And it will be like Mylo Xyloto, ok ETIAW and Paradise may suck for some people, but you gotta admit, Major Minus, Charlie Brown, Moving to Mars are really great songs. Thats why i think the album will be good. And of COURSE Paradise and ETIAW are the "singles", wanna know why?

So... after this phase they should get depressed, no? And then they will find the good way again :D

 

You don't need to be "depressed" to make music that expands your sound + musical capabilities... nor would I wish it upon anybody.

 

Instead of being so calculating + focused on producing these safe, pleasant-sounding "anthemic" songs, I want them to take on other musical influences and take risks with their songcrafting. It might not result in the best album but at least they wouldn't waste their talent and potential

I've always respected bands that change from an album to another, but I just hope that Paradise and ETIAW are the worst ones, and that the Rihanna thing will sound good. 'Cause depending on what Roadie said about Up in Flames and the other songs (Charlie Brown, Us Against the World, and the other live ones) I just hopw that there will be some good songs on the album and that these 2 are the only shitty ones.

 

 

Remember what Debs/the Oracle said about Paradise a while back:

"It goes on to say that Paradise is more representative of what's to come on the album as a whole."

 

Make what you will of that statement....

There's always the B-sides guys, always the B-sides which I am hoping are amazing songs which coldplay somehow confused them with bad songs and placed the others on the album. :anxious:

MM is not great in studio version. Hurts Like Heaven could be so-so b-side from AROBTTH and X&Y era, Us Against the World is typical country crap they liked to release. What else? Charlie Brown? Perhaps it's a good song, we need album version.

And who the fuck is Rihanna? Never heard about her.
