UK Midweek Chart update: Coldplay claim biggest first-week sales since May (122,508 copies in just T

The reason is not selling that much as the previous albums is cos the previous albums had brilliant singles released along with the album, this one hasnt.

This.

The fact that their label didn't promote Paradise to Pop stations until Oct. 12th is beyond me.

Maybe it's because of POC, maybe they want that song to top the charts. I personally think Paradise is more quality than POC but POC has Rihanna in it.

http://www.metacritic.com/person/coldplay Well , but MX got Coldplay's worst reviews .

I think that the album will do really well up until the first week of January .. Then IDK .. It might do better and It will in part be cause of Christmas sales ..

There are too many very very positive reviews from really serious sources to say something like that.

If I had the money I would go out and buy 400 000 copies of MX so that the first week sales would hit 800 000!!!!

That would cost me £2,800,000.

not much then!

The singles thing is true, and whats impressive is that PoC and CB are doing well on iTunes without singles. PoC is around #4 overall and CB is #5 Alt and peaked at #39 overall, and lets face it the radio will eat up both of those songs. Although I'd bet money the radio version of Charlie Brown doesn't have the piano outro.

I tend to agree, its a bit of a shame that CB and POC wont do as well in the charts when they're released as singles because a lot people already downloaded it around the album release date. However by not releasing a popular single with the album the band have proved that they aren't in the music industry to make money! ;):)

Eh PoC is doing fine w/o a single and to be honest Im not sure if it will be single unless Chris feels he can sing both parts live and the song still live up to what they think it should be. Sadly the mass appeal of that song is Rihanna so unless the single comes with a Rihannaless version playing it live might be a bit of a let down to some fans (not me).
