^Yeah, I felt that way as well. I missed MX at the beginning of the week, but now I feel like I'm pretty well acquainted with it for some reason...

Also, guys remember to start voting at midnight tonight! And feel free to sum up the challenge as a whole on this thread. I thought it was pretty cool... :D

Today is the easiest of the 5 days. I just listened to the MX playback on Exposure XFM with Jo Kennedy where Chris, Guy, & Jonny were explaining the whole album track by track.

This impromptu UATW performance from the Ed Sullivan Theater was just epic.

^I remember that performance!

Yeah, today just seemed like everything simply went back to normal, music-wise. I've had MX on repeat for awhile now.

Also, I've come to a conclusion...MX is a great album for a Friday! :D

My MX day is over ! :) I can vote to the poll! But I do not know what to choose.... My opinion of Parachutes has changed and VLV too... I thinks this is too hard to choose now. But it was really great experience ! : ) I think I'm going to impose me from time to time !

Well, I'm ready to vote as well. Apart from my number 1 choice, the rest is very difficult to rank.

1. AROBTTH : Too many great songs on only a sophomore album from such young musicians.

2. X&Y: if only for Fix You which was my entry point to Coldplay. I don't know how such a classic song never hit number 1 in the charts?

3. Parachutes, Viva La Vida, MX. These 3 are equal #3. I have no idea how to rank them.

I'm going to vote, too! My rankings are as follows:

1. Still Viva. I don't know what it is about this album, but as a work of art, I think it's brilliant.

2. AROBTTH and MX. These are both tied for second for me, because I love them equally. They're both brilliant albums, (aside from the rihanna appearance on MX), and I think they show immense musical maturity from our boys.

3. X&Y: Even though it's the band's least favorite album, I really like it. It's relatable, and, well, it's got Fix You. Need I say more?

4. I really like Parachutes a lot, but it comes in last because, honestly, I think the other albums are better developed and very well put together. But, overall, there isn't a Coldplay album that I dislike. :D

Parachutes was definitely great for a Freshmen album. I feel a little sad b/c I imagine the boys would probably want to hear that MX is their best work. I like it a lot but can't just put it at number 1 if I want to be honest.

^Most definitely! Not to mention the fact that Coldplay COMPLETELY skipped the "sophomore slump" with AROBTTH... ;)

Unable to vote my favorite because I haven't completely made up my mind. Torn really. Always been Viva. MX is so close. Will wait tomorrow to vote.

The whole idea was to see if your opinion would change forcing you to focus on each album on it's own. Think it would be better to listen to MX first and Viva next, X&Y, Rush, Parachutes. Seems it might work better that way. MX is new and so fresh. We always think the new stuff is better, or I do.

Fun experiment, feel inspired to check out the old threads and dig into the interviews, posts about each album to get a better feel of them. Didn't have enough time to watch all the videos

I'm glad everyone really enjoyed it. Yeah, it definitely forced me to take a closer look at each of the albums. I thought it would almost be overkill, but in the end, I did feel sort of rushed. I guess more time is needed to truly embrace each album, but it was still a fun experiment, and it definitely made me think! :D

@postcards--I'm kinda in the same predicament. Viva has always been my favorite, but listening to MX today almost made me reconsider. I might vote tomorrow as well... :)

From those who have already voted, no one's mind was changed as far as number 1 album.

1 person's mind has changed only! Wow ! But that was cool.

Yeah, not a lot of people changed! I was kinda hoping someone would, but I didn't! Haha!

I guess the challenge just solidified the reasons that you liked your favorite.

It speaks volume for the band that we all have different favorite albums. It means they are not a 1 trick pony. They've grown as musicians with each album and their audience is diverse. It's a very good thing.

I couldn't agree more! :)

@ postcards: AWESOME! :D

GREAT THREAD!!

Parachutes was great

A rush of blood to the head was AMAZINGLY FANTASTICALLY AWESOME.

X&Y is not as bad as I thought it was completely changed my opinion.

Vida la Vida used to be my favorite but now that I relistened to it it's not as EPIC as I thought.

Mylo Xyloto I didn't like it at first but now that I listened to it; it's my favorite. I don't know it just hits me in the right places. Up in Flames and Us Against the World are amazing, and every teardrop just makes me want to dance. This album makes me feel good and I hope it always makes me feel good.

It's cool to hear the evolution of their music. It's nice that in their last two albums they've opened themselves up creatively and aren't bullshitting their fans with what they think we want from them. COLDPLAY ROCKSS!!!!
