Xylobands: Would You Pay Extra to Keep Them at Future Concerts?

Featured Replies

With Coldplay recently coming out and saying that the Xylobands are costing them far too much, would you (as fans) be willing to pay a little extra in your ticket price to keep the Xylobands on future tours? I know Coldplay doesn't normally repeat ideas every tour, but the Xyloband has made such a difference to the enjoyablility of the concert it seems- I mean, it was amazing already, but it just makes it that much better.

For example:

If Coldplay were to add 26 pounds (or about 40 dollars) to the ticket price at their recent concerts at the Emirates Stadium (about 60,000 people), they would be able to generate an extra 1.56 million pounds (or about 2.4 million dollars) in revenue. That would surely handle the cost of the Xylobands (I've probably overshot the average cost of a Xyloband, but estimating too big is better than too small).

It's just an idea, but what do you all think? Is it worth it for the concert experience it provides?

I think

1. That he was joking. If it would cost them too much, why would they still have so much fireworks and balloons and confetti and whatnot.

2. Given that they order those xylobands in millions, I'm guessing, 1 pound/ticket would do for the xyloband costs

I'm sure that he was joking.. But I'd pay for it, yes.

I also think he was joking:P haha

And yes I would pay for it. But I don't understand your calculation.. Do you really think one Xyloband would cost 26 dollars?!

I think the productioncosts are muchhhhhh lower wich would probably end up in a max of 2 dollars/euros on the ticketprice. (At Least, that's what i think)

I really have no idea how much they cost- I checked out the Xyloband website, and there was no details on cost. Everyone seems to think he was joking, so I'm feeling like the joke's on me a little bit. :p. You're probably right- and as others previously stated, since they are buying in bulk they'd probably get a good deal...

I wouldn't pay more than $5 to keep it, seems like a waste once the concert is over.

He was probably just joking, but yes, it's a memorabilia from a spectacular tour!

It does seem like he may have been joking about the Xylobands being costly? :p but yeah I would pay to keep mine if we had to do so! maybe not as high as an extra £26 though, around £10 would be more of a fair extra cost I'd say!

Wouldn't pay an extra tender tho, think some cost is in a programme or a t shirt if u get one

We ended up gettin a t shirt for me and my dad and a programme so in a way our 4 wristbands cost is covered

As already said by everyone, it was a joke, have you seen the ticket prices!? They afford them just fine. And seriously £26 for one wristband

oh noo, Chris was joking ;)

but of course, I would pay for it. Xylobands are amazing.

No most definitely not.

I'd pay a pound or two (probably about cost price) for a second one (I actually think they're misssing a marketing trick here), otherwise, apart from Chris's poor joke on the matter, they've increased most ticket prices for this tour (at least in the UK), so it's really a non-issue.

I know I'd pay to buy a 2nd, or maybe a 3rd (or a 4th if I felt cheeky), Xyloband for myself during the concert :laugh3:

Not sure about regarding the UK ticket prices being increased? or well the standing face value/price ones seem normal priced I guess, but I did notice it costed more for tired seats, or whatever you'd class it as at stadiums haha!

I would buy three extra bands for a tenner (£10) for sure, to make four in total - two on each wrist :P

The standing tickets were the same price as the last tour, but many of the seated tickets were more by £10 I think. And the delivery fees and stuff for Ticketmaster and the other sites seems to have gone up...and this is not money that goes to the band and crew (who are the only ones who deserve it) :(
