when I use my keyboard, my mouse stops moving?

So I'm trying to play minecraft on my laptop, where you need to be able to use the keyboard keys and the touchpad/mouse button simultaneously... but whenever I'm using the keys it freezes my mouse movement.

Presumably so that if you're writing a document you don't accidently click the mouse buttons. How do I turn this setting off? xD

There must be a mouse setting somewhere on my laptop I just cannot for the life of me find it

My laptop is a Samsung coreI5 running Windows 7.

The Internet gives me this

Mouse locks when keys are pressed

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o_5QmfQxrkk]YouTube: Use keyboard and mouse at same time for gaming fix! (Disabling Palmcheck)[/ame]

It's something to do with one of those annoying "features" that came with the laptop. I say "features" because honestly that seems more like a pain in the ass than anything. "PalmCheck" is your problem apparently.

Oh god that was so close to being the answer, but the last step the menu looks completely different with no palm check option :disappointed:

Yes I think you are correct it must be this Palmcheck thing, it's so frustrating the makers of the laptop presume this is a setting everybody will want and not have a simple way of disabling it.

I will keep looking through youtube videos because I hadn't thought of that before, i was just googling the problem :surprised:

Thank you for answering, Cobalt :wacky:

Are you sure there's no model number on the underside of your laptop that might help find specifics as to how to turn it off in Samsung's software? I'm assuming they've just put different versions of it onto different laptops, as that seems to happen

I took my laptop to the shop it was bought from and talked to their tech guys.

Seems they can't fix it. The only solution that they thought may fix it is if I upgraded to Windows 8.

I did that (because it was free for me anyway) but it still hasn't resolved the problem.

Oh well spose I'll have to live with it.

Hahaha what! Did you tell them it was the PalmCheck thing? Why on earth would it be fixed by changing the OS?
