Warnings ahead of expected storm

 

Warnings of stormy weather in parts of England and Wales on Sunday night and Monday are extended to more areas.

Its going to be a breezy one folks.

Storm heading for Denmark now. It is already quite windy.

Well it was alright here.

Well there a leaves and branches trying to squeeze themselves through the tiny gap of my open window, so I'd say it's pretty windy in Germany. The north is gonna be fucked though, I'm happy I'm not living there.

Quite stormy at the moment in Denmark. The roof of Lyngby station (close to where I live) has been blown off. Now all trains (except in northernmost Jutland) are cancelled. Air traffic not so much affected yet.

 

Latest: One man died after having been hit by a falling tile. People recommended to remain inside - dangerous to be outside because of falling tiles, trees etc.

In regard to the original article, I agree that 80mph gusts is a bit severe. But It 0.8-1.6 inches of rainfall within a period of 6-9 hours? That seems rather tame. I would understand if that amount fell within 30 minutes or something, but over 6-9 hours isn't warning-worthy in my book.

The weather with strong/powerful storm is getting better now. In western part of Denmark the wind culminated some hours ago - one bridge has just been reopened. The storm has also culminated in my part of Denmark - in the greater Copenhagen area. But when it was worst the wind was blowing with 54m per second. Worse than ever recorded in Denmark.

 

Planes were able to land at Kastrup Airport better known as Copenhagen Airport. But it was not possible for those onboard to get out of the planes.
