Optional Piano Chords for Fix You

Hey guys,

I spend a lot of time trying to figure out how Chris plays things live on my piano. I found a chord I think he uses live A LOT when playing Fix You, which isn't necessarily apart of the original song itself.

I don't normally make these types of threads and I never have before but figured for others it might be helpful.

The normal way I play it is with the familiar chord of

G, A#, D#

G, A#, D, D#

However, at the end of for instance

"When you try your best but you don't succeed."

Instead of playing the normal G, A#, D, D#, you can play instead this chord:

G#, A#, D, D#. It's simply moving up from G to G#, while playing B flat on the base, but it makes a world of difference. Throw a few of these in throughout the song and it sounds great.

sometimes I play simply a G# instead of the actual chord (with a b flat on the base), which can work as well. Sometimes simply a G, A#, D#, G (octave) as well.

There are a lot of different variations one can do with the chords, and I just thought I'd share a few that I've come across.
