The Godfather (Parts I and II)

Featured Replies

Well, I'm back working a little, but lucky for me HBO (or maybe HBO2 or HBO12 or HBO-North Atlantic) has the Godfather first two Godfather movies on. Ah, something to talk about ...

Michael just shot the Turka nd the Police Chief, so we're about half way through Part I.

Anybody else into these movies?

Can you believe it...I haven't really watched these films...yes I am a desgrace to society...but don't hate me cause I'm beautiful  (yes that is from a shampoo comercial:) )

I've only seen bits/parts from the movies...all I know is a part where he puts the horse's head on the bed or something :o

Well, since somebody else on this board called you beautiful I think you can get away with using that cliche beyond the explanatory clause.

And the horse scene is really famous. It's such a good scene, too. it takes place early int he first movie and sets the tone for the next two flicks, and really it's one of the few times you get to see Brando's Godfather side. Soon he's out of the picture and you don't get many glimpses into his power as the Don.

But you should watch them ... their influence on modern pop culture has reached a level of hyperbole, but they are still classyck movies.

They're fantastic. Masterpiece, maybe. Point.

I completely agree.

It's not often that I'm the worst Spanish speaker in a thread, but with you and Gisela here I'm definitely gonna stick to English.

Well, I guess she isn't really here.

She left.

You're not the worst speaker... You just need practising. It's nice you try to do it here...

  • Author

Oh, no. I just meant I'm the worst out of you, me, and Gisela.

But that's not really fair. You're both native speakers.

Aaaaaah, I get it now, I think... Slow brain activity at night... :P

Yeah ... it's the middle of the afternoon here, so I supposed I have a slight advantage on ya'.

Yeah, sure... The little hangover doesn't help at all

Well, I'm still trying to get half a bottle of wine out of my system.

Just half a bottle?

  • Author

Yeah ... Im not a big wine drinker ...

But that half bottle did the job.

I'm not a big lover of wine either... just in some meals.

But it's curious how sometimes just a bit of alcohol gets you drunk. I suppose it depends of your mood too...

I'm gonna have to resort to wine here soon.

I'm out of beer.

I'm running out of soda.

I'm running out of water.

"But Richard," you might be wondering, "why don't you just go to the store?"

Why? Because I'm not going to let him win.

Yes, I've seen these movies about 100 times in my whole life........(my oldest brother's obsessed w/the movie...that's why) ;)

That's cool.

I've probably seen them that many times too.

I first tried to watch them when I was young, but only in the last ten years have I cultivated a real appreciation of them.

James Caan is so cool in G1!
