musiclover
was listening to this song on my yahoo launchcast player. and thought it was too beautiful not to be put up on here. And it's something everyone should keep in mind...specially those who're single/looking and also those who're burned-out with life and feel jaded and are a big cynic (sp?)! The Rose by Bette Midler Some say love, it is a river That drowns the tender reed Some say love, it is a razor That leaves your soul to bleed Some say love, it is a hunger An endless aching need I say love, it is a flower And you, it's only seed It's the heart, afraid of breaking That never learns to dance It's the dream, afraid of waking That never takes the chance It's the one who won't be taken Who cannot seem to give And the soul, afraid of dying That never learns to live When the night has been too lonely And the road has been too long And you think that love is only for the lucky and the strong Just remember in the winter Far beneath the bitter snow Lies the seed That with the sun's love, in the spring Becomes the rose (I'm a cynic myself, so i don't expect this thread to get too many hits or responses! ) do what you are supposed to do without expecting fruits of your action. fruits come in their own time. the basic law of karma... MrsBerry
Frank-Sinatra - My Way And now, the end is near; And so I face the final curtain. My friend, I’ll say it clear, I’ll state my case, of which I’m certain. I’ve lived a life that’s full. I’ve traveled each and ev’ry highway; And more, much more than this, I did it my way. Regrets, I’ve had a few; But then again, too few to mention. I did what I had to do And saw it through without exemption. I planned each charted course; Each careful step along the byway, But more, much more than this, I did it my way. Yes, there were times, I’m sure you knew When I bit off more than I could chew. But through it all, when there was doubt, I ate it up and spit it out. I faced it all and I stood tall; And did it my way. I’ve loved, I’ve laughed and cried. I’ve had my fill; my share of losing. And now, as tears subside, I find it all so amusing. To think I did all that; And may I say - not in a shy way, "no, oh no not me, I did it my way". For what is a man, what has he got? If not himself, then he has naught. To say the things he truly feels; And not the words of one who kneels. The record shows I took the blows - And did it my way! musiclover
i LOVE frank Sinatra! :-) thanks for posting, Denise! here's one story...in the 'uplifting' genre > > God's Cake > > > > Sometimes we wonder, "What did I do to deserve > > this", or "Why did God have to do this to me". Here > > is a wonderful explanation! > > > > A daughter is telling her Mother how everything is > > going wrong, she's failing algebra, her boyfriend > > broke up with her and her best friend is moving > > away. > > > > Meanwhile, her Mother is baking a cake and asks > > her daughter if she would like a snack, and the > > daughter says, "Absolutely Mom, I love your cake." > > > > "Here, have some cooking oil," her Mother > > offers. "Yuck" says her daughter. > > > > "How about a couple raw eggs?" > > > > "Gross, Mom!" > > > > "Would you like some flour then? Or maybe baking > > soda?" "Mom, those are all yucky!" > > > > To which the mother replies: "Yes, all those > > things seem bad all by themselves. But when they are > > put together in the right way, they make a > > wonderfully delicious cake! > > > > God works the same way. Many times we wonder why > > He would let us go ! through such bad and difficult > > times. But God knows that when He puts these things > > all in His order, they always work for good! We just > > have to trust Him and, eventually, they will all > > make something wonderful! > > > > God is crazy about you. He sends you flowers > > every spring and a sunrise every morning. > > > > Whenever you want to talk, He'll listen. He can > > live anywhere in the universe, and He chose your > > heart. > > > > If you like this, send this on to the people you > > really care about. I did. > > > > I hope your day is a "piece of cake!" > > > > > > Life may not be the party we hoped for, but > > while we are here we might as well dance.
