I did French when I was 16 in school, but they only taught us the basic stuff and that was 4 years ago. :rolleyes:

 

I know basic conversation in French like "can I have diet coke please?" But nothing as good as most of the members on here.

Hmmm well, I think french is really difficult and I have it as a subject since 6 years now....but I'm not that good in it....english is more my subject....we were in france and we were at Mc Donalds and the woman asked me what I want to drink and I didn't understand her....I asked her if she could repeat it and she did and after 5 times of repeating I knew what she wanted!

Yeah I went to Paris a few months ago and everytime I ordered in French they would repeat it back to me in English cos I was so bad :embarrased:

I think they speak too fast....and they are famous here in Germany for only speaking french....and they don't put much effort in it to speak german when they are here!

Well I've never been to Germany and I've never been taught German but I'd give it a damn good go. I try to make an effort to learn at least a few phrases before I go somewhere. It's only polite :idea2:

Yeah this is what I think too.....but my sister had a french exchange student and she was in france first and she spoke french the whole week....when he was with us He didn't speak a german word....nobody understood him except my sis!
