 its called Alzheimers DISEASE (yes Sternly..spot on as usual...well done *claps*)

Alzheimers disease is a prototypical neurodegenerative disease. It is characterised by a series of abnormailties in the brain that selectively affect neurons in specific regions, particularly the neocortex, the entorhinal area, hippocampus, amygdala, nucleus basalis, anterior thalamus, and several brain stem monoaminergic nuclei (ie. the locus ceruleus and raphe complex)

My granmother had it and died from it when i was about ten. it was horrible to deal with her when she didn't even recognised me. i am happy for her tho that she is now somewhere better.

*hugs*

SO ITS EASY FOR ME TO IDENTIFY THEM! KEEP GOING STERNLY AND G SPOT

Haha, I think is a disease ;)

and as I said my grandma has it, the illness isn't that advanced on her but shes quite forgetting everything... last time I talked to her she recognised as her grandson me but she forgot my name

my nans got it too

its horrible when you know someone exists but they don't think your there

my grand mother has it too, sometimes she seems to recognise us and to be happy we're here, sometimes she believes i'm a nurse, sometimes she tries to go out when we're not looking in order to find her husband where she used to when she was young (my grand father is dead since 1982...)

it's such a strange disease, i can't even know what she really feels

  um I don't remeber y I came to this thread

Seems like everybody in here has experiences about Alzheimer's disease

I called my grandma today and I had to remind her my name

My grandad just died from it on Dec 22nd. :( He was in a home since July and became really depressed and then refused to eat, which was really bad since he had diabetes. :/

My grandfather died in 2001 with diabetes and Chicken Pox

you acn die from chicken pox :o

Elderly people can die from pretty much any disease/infection/virus unfortunately

Chicken pox? Eeep

Yeah, isn't that the name of the illness? most people when is child or baby gets it, my grandpa didn't but got it later. Something fatal for his diabetes
