Only now with this juxtaposition of images did I notice that B&S and TBR have the same colour scheme ! Off-topic, does anyone no why The Blue Room EP is called like that ?

Just Audacity, nothing professional. I tried to imitate the Jonny sound on IMP but I didn't quite manage to get close to it, despite playing around a lot. These delay parameters gave the best result at least to my ears. ;)

Oh, you are from NY ? I thought you wanted to take the bus from Philly ! NYC is an adventure onto itself. I really love that city, wish I had more time to explore it while I was still from the US. I have been there three times (the first two of which were associated with Coldplay concerts). I have to say I didn't appreciate it the first time round, when I was sick and sleep-deprived and it was pouring down so much that my coat was still wet two days later. But I explored the city in good weather the next two times, and it is so interesting. The only thing that was a bit disappointing is that some of the New Yorkers seem to have rudeness, at least to tourists, as their standard attitude...I had a few unpleasant encounters, but then again for every nasty person there were other friendly and helpful ones, and I try to remember the good encounters more. Would like to visit again to explore more :D

I know, right ? Sometimes I find artists from which I like one or two songs. But there is no other artist from which I like almost the entire discography (well at least the one before 2009, lol). I am a person who goes a lot by melody in what I like (although melody is just one part of the equation...) and I think Coldplay are melodically second to none. Hmmm...Things I Don't Understand !

1.36 ? Simon Pegg adds vocals on it but it never overlaps with Chris. Or Idiot ? Jonny has some lines there as well and they don't overlap with Chris.

You mean Port Authority ? Port Authority was close to the well-lit Times Square and Rockefeller Plaza as well, which was my luck when I arrived in the middle of the night to see them at the Today Show... :) I had never been to NYC before, back then, and if it had been any farther I would likely not have gone at all.

Thanks for listening ! @coldplayisawesome was quite close to the actual setlist. AROBTTH was not in the medley - the notes I used (or should I say, I intended to use) were from Jonny's intro to Spies. But I'm not good at using slide, so AROBTTH was a fair guess :) No.4 is neither Low nor Things I Don't Understand, it was supposed to be the riff from One I Love :D By the way, IMP is not played backwards or anything - it's the normal riff with some delay and tremolo on it because Jonny also uses these effects for the IMP riff. I don't have pedals etc. so I have to put the effects in after recording.

Oh OK :D Well, its hard to put it in words really...to me it gives such a strong feeling of melancholy and nostalgia at the same time. I don't know why, but if I had to pick a single song that describes how I feel about life in general, this would be it (because of the sound, not the lyrics which I actually cannot relate to as much). I know this all sounds very fuzzy. To me it's a song best listened to in moving vehicles when you stare out of the window, it always had this theme of leaving/travelling for me (well, it is called I Ran Away, after all) and leaving something behind as well as starting somewhere new. I think the "moving" theme also crept into our video... It's amazing what three guitar chords can do, isn't it ? You described the song very nicely, @cp3176 ! I agree with all of your points about I Ran Away, except that I don't associate it with cloudy skies or brownish clouds. :)

Hi all, remember the piano medley I once made around the same time as the I Ran Away music video ? Well, now I had some fun on my electric guitar :guitarist:...and made this little medley of Coldplay guitar solos (from known as well as lesser known songs, 11 songs in total). When I started it I intended it as a small thank-you for the Coldplaying community, although I hope the poor quality will not make it seem more of a punishment than a thank-you (the sound was recorded with my mobile phone, not pulled off the guitar itself due to lack of equipment; this is why you keep hearing the sound of the pick hitting the strings etc.) :D Disclaimer: My guitar skills are exactly zero :blush:, so if you expect anything sounding remotely like Jonny would be able to play it, this is not it. I had lots of fun "learning" the melodies despite my slow hands and lack of musical understanding. Have fun listening to it and lets see if you can identify all the song parts !
