A return of Politik would be amazing! And I so, so hope that Arabesque will be during Coldplay's set and not Femi's set, no offence to Femi - he and his band are brilliant and the reason Arabesque is the masterpiece it is - but only the Coldplay set will be streamed globally for free, and the world needs to hear that song!!

It was his sister Yeni who confirmed it at first, then deleted her confirmation tweet. It's all very confusing, whether it will be played at Coldplay's set or Chris will guest appear during Femi's set or it won't be played at all (I hope not, I hope all that soundchecking served a purpose) remains to be seen. Of course a performance during Coldplay's set would be awesome and give this masterpiece the publicity it deserves, but with the band who did not play Amsterdam in Amsterdam, did not play HFTW with Beyonce and did not play Fun with Tove Lo I'll remain cautious. 😛

Agree. It's funny because AROBTTH was already on the path to arena/stadium rock, X&Y was full out arena/stadium rock and VLV even more so. To anyone who disagrees I'll just ask you respectfully to look at old video recordings of the Twisted Logic and VLV tour. Their Twisted Logic Tour set was so energetic it commanded entire large arenas and festivals like Glastonbury or Isle of Wight from the first to the last minute. The Viva tour set was even bigger and saw them transition to actual stadiums during the tour. Don't believe me, just watch!

The weak bridge is well spotted and something that bothers me about several of Coldplay's recent singles. Coldplay songs used to have great bridges and often develop into something entirely different over the course of a few minutes. Recent singles all seem to have a sort of empty-feeling bridge that doesn't introduce a new idea, and the final chorus doesn't have an entirely fresh element either, so it feels like some of these songs go nowhere and just repeat. And mind you, I'm not against repetition in principle, some of my favorite old Coldplay songs have tons of repetition in the lyrics, but it was always accompanied by an instrumental buildup or development, and I'm missing that in their recent output.

I like the FLIFIL verses more than the Higher Power ones! The vocals are softer, better and feel less rushed, I don't know how to explain it. Overall I'm positively surprised by how the song turned out, given that I was skeptical about the teaser snippet at first. I already like it, and I feel it's the kind of song that will only grow on me the more I hear it. I also can't wait to hear it live! The only thing I feel could be better are the lyrics, Chris showed on EL and Coloratura that he can (still) do much better than this! And I wish Jonny had a solo
