  1. bus to a previous workplace, which was a bad place and I used to listen to What if and other X&Y songs during the bus ride... For You
  2. ...said the person whose last riddle could not be solved by anybody in this forum :D Not Pour Me...
  3. Cemeteries of London - there are GHOST towns in the ocean
  4. I haven't even thought about customs (the shipping itself is quite expensive)...no idea if there is a gift declaration. I will for sure declare it as a gift, because what else could it be ? I didn't purchase it and I wouldn't even know what the "value" of this is from a tax perspective. @Christa42 - no, thanks again to you for making this thread ! If you hadn't made it I would for sure not have seen the sweepstakes ! :)
  5. Yes, I do remember and I could never understand it because to me, it's one of the best songs from MX. Speed of Sound is not for yawning ! :'( Agree that Trouble is such a great song...all of Parachutes is like a warm blanket to me that you can snuggle up to :) As for Lhuna...that it creeps me out somewhat. It sounds so otherworldly, and a bit too sensual for my liking. But I actually thing its sound is very original and I don't really dislike it, I just don't frequently listen to it... A Ghost
  6. A Ghost - it gives off that same vibe !
  7. Hi all, I just wanted to give you a brief update on this. A friend of mine picked it up for me so it is now in safe hands. Unfortunately the shipping costs for a package of this size and weight from the US to Europe are really high, so at the moment it is kind of stranded there. There is a fair chance I might be back for a brief stay in the US in January 2017 anyway, so at the moment the plan is to take it with me then. We decided not to open the package because it is best protected for transportation the way it is now, so I have no idea what the artwork motif will be, and I'm afraid you guys also have to wait for a picture until January. Sorry about that ! But I am really looking forward to it :) and I know that one day, it will find its way home, where it wanted to go ! ;)
  8. Hi, welcome to Coldplaying ! Parachutes is an incredibly good album indeed !! It is of such melancholic beauty...have you checked out their other albums as well ? My personal favorites are X&Y and AROBTTH, along with Parachutes I think they make a great trilogy :) Wish you lots of fun checking out the entire Coldplay discography ! It's worth it!
  9. I watched some TV with my family yesterday, we watched a documentation, and i got distracted because the background music used in parts was a loop of the riff of HFTW (i mean the three chord guitar riff used right before Chris starts singing)
  10. I didn't watch the rest of the set...but did wonder about her outfit, so it was a nod to Prince ? The first song was Stay, one of the two Rihanna-containing songs I care about (the other one being Princess of China) :) Stay is a very beautiful song in my opinion, and it takes me back to lonely evenings/nights in the lab back in early 2013. I had to work a lot during the night and I would keep the radio on to keep me company and dispel the fears (for it was scary to be in the lab alone at night, and worst of all was the actually well-meant security patrol that passed 3 times per night but never at the same hours and was the perfect jumpscare for me). I "discovered" a lot of songs at that time, and Stay was one of those that often came on during the night, so calming. In the mornings, especially when I had to start early, there was this one song with a soaring melody that always made me turn the radio louder and gave me a good mood. All I ever understood from the lyrics back then was "for some reason I can't explain", which I eventually googled. There was another song that was all over the radio at the time (a bit earlier, since late 2011 and during all of 2012) which caught my attention because its instrumentation sounded so different from the rest of mainstream music, it sounded very orchestral to me, especially the intro and the bridge. To this day, the intro can make me very emotional because it is the signature song of that time in my life...A radio host who once after the song yelled "Paradise, Coldplay !" into the microphone is my first recollection of ever hearing that name. Oops, sorry for the extended walk down memory lane thanks to Stay... :)
  11. I have heard a report according to which Rihanna has been extremely late for several concerts in a row, her highest achievement being 3 hours !!!! I personally think it's disrespectful to the fans, especially if it's not a one-off (accidents happen) but a regular thing. Another thing that our band would never do...
  12. And three of the four uplifting songs I mentioned were from Oldplay, my friend ;) I personally get more energy from the likes of Talk, White Shadows, Low, Speed of Sound, Things I don't understand, Glass of Water, LiT, Cemeteries of London etc. etc. than the likes of AHFOD, HFTW, AOAL or ASFOS :)
  13. You know what's interesting about listening uplifting Coldplay tracks while walking in public ? Here are some thoughts. For example if I listen to stuff like Talk, Viva La Vida, White Shadows etc. I have to keep myself from wanting to dance along or singing along. :D When I pull the earplugs out and everything is suddenly quiet, I get reminded that the party is only going on in my head and is totally out of sync with what is going on in the real world at that moment. I also noticed that fast songs tend to make me quicken my pace subconsciously. And here is a confession: You know the moment during A Head Full Of Dreams Live when after the Oooh chant the colors explode and Chris makes that jump ? Well, once I was listening to just that track on a street that was completely empty...and I actually did the jump (or at least my imitation of it ;)) at that moment. It felt great :D
  14. I really like Rihanna's Stay ! Have you heard it ? I was positively surprised when she started her GCF show yesterday with that song... Right now, listening to VLV Live on a loop...gives you more energy than a coffee in the morning !

  16. All right, here it is: 1st clue: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XbUVMaKnXn4 Mobile Link: https://youtu.be/XbUVMaKnXn4 2nd clue: 1 and 2 are the same, 3 is different. By the way Sue, this is completely unrelated but have you seen the Global Citizen performances by Chris and Eddie Vedder as well as Chris solo with Raspberry Beret ? Thought it would be fun for you ! They are all on Youtube. Hope you will be better soon !
  17. I know, I actually do the same myself (also come from, albeit large, village next to a medium-sized towon) I was just surprised because I had never heard the name of the village before :)
  18. Rihanna is sampling Dragostea din tei ? Lol. OK, I'm turning off now !
  19. Chris is from Whitestone, UK ? Now that's news to me, I thought it was Exeter itself...
  20. I was on my way back to Chris's appearance, when I spotted Rihanna's Stay...and stayed there. Love this song. I wish that would have been a duet with Chris...that would have been just perfect !
  21. I thought exactly the same thing, to be honest. I love Chris's voice, but next to Eddie's it did sound like the less powerful one. Anyway, a bit disappointed that there was no Coldplay song but that goes to show how humble Chris is - he would never want to showcase his band on such an occasion, highlighting peace ballads and a Pearl Jam song instead. :)
