Thankyou, well said, I agree 100%! The only complaint I had was about the fact that the FLiFiL chorus reminds a little too much of Higher Power chorus the way Chris sings the words. For the rest, it's just a great single and it's promising for the record. It's already much less poppy and more chill Coldplay compared to their latest singles.

Same here, I absolutely agree. Much more emotion, much more ''chill Coldplay'', and less poppy I guess. It grows on me a lot and I like it so much more than their latest singles, which is quite promising as a first single!

How epic would it be if Coldplay decide to perform this song with an orchestra. A big orchestra behind the band. Just like the Grammys performance back in 2003. The strings sound (now sometimes background) will elevate FLiFiL without a doubt, really hoping something like this will happen!

Same here, the verses are definitely better imo! The way he sings there reminds me of earlier days (A Rush Of Blood or so?) Too bad there isn't a solo or at least a guitar break. Perhaps Jonny did have more for this song but with FliFiL being the first single they left it out

I quite like it when Will hits enters with the snare later, because it's a bit different. It gives FLiFiL a better build-up (?) towards the last chorus/ending part I think! It's just a choice they made and I think it's a great choice.

Flifil is a great song, especially Jonny's E-bow guitar in the pre-choruses are great. The riffs in the last chorus too. From a critical perspective, I must say there is 1 thing that bothers me while listening to this song. The way Chris is singing those words in the choruses reminds me so much of the Higher Power choruses, they've got almost the same timing... I mean, everytime I sing FLiFiL (chorus) in my head, I end up singing Higher Power

It seems that BBC One is going to broadcast Coldplay's set at the festival! At least in The Netherlands. Broadcast starts at 10:30pm BST, which is odd as Coldplay hits the stage around 10..... I hope the set isn't going to be edited in those 30 mins.

Thanks for pointing that out, I had absolutely no idea how long their set would be. I read somewhere that they'll be on from 9pm - 10pm BST, is that correct?
