BTW I didn't say it was sad because I didn't like it, I still love it :D Yes, those are more specific feelings but again, overall "regret" "missing someone" "longing" "alone/confused" etc... are more related to sad than a happy feeling. And when I listen to AROBTTH songs they just feel sad... (but then they have those more specific feelings too) (Again, this is not an insult. I LOVE these soulful songs that they really put their emotion into. Do not take this the wrong way ! :D) And I don't really think you can call MX "poppy" or "light" or "trivial". I agree with AHFOD in a sense, but MX feels too rich and full to be that way. Yes, it's poppy compared to their earlier albums, but still not really pop, again "pop rock" at best with 1 straight pop song, 1 R&Bish song, and 2 poppier style songs. The rest is happy, not poppy. (I guess they are a little poppy but still...) I really like MX because it just feels like a happier version of their earlier albums. It still has that rich, deep, thorough feeling in a happier format. And it's quite rocky too...

Ouch :( Glad the power's back! I got so many alerts when I checked back, I was only gone for 4 hours! So I may be a little late on some things. Apparently there's really bad storms in the States right now... watching streams and it's crazy, there was even a tornado warning at one point and still might be, So, anyone in the path of these storms, remember to take appropriate safety precautions and find shelter!!! And, for those of you who are in the path of these storms, or who may have relatives or friends, I hope the best for you and that no one gets hurt!!:D

^This. Unlike you, I enjoyed AHFOD, but I agree in the sense that it's a worse MX. And that's why I love MX. People say it's pop, nah. Pop rock at the most, only "pop" song is PoC. Paradise has poppiness to it, and UiF has an electronic drumbeat and more of R&B feel. ETIAW has a slight pop feel to it. Everything else is just a happier version of what Coldplay used to do. That's why I see MX as them still doing stuff good since IMO it has the deepness and richness of their old albums, just in a MUCH more colorful and happy format. And the songs that come from this era are just so good that they make me put MX at the top of my album list. However, AROBTTH is pretty freaking good too. I see MX as the perfect "happy" album and AROBTTH the perfect "sad" album. Both are so similar in the regard that they have so much amazing songs. I love to listen to both of them, it's a real treat for me. It's their masterpieces IMO. Wait, I forgot Im in the Oldplaying thread, not the Myloplaying thread :lol:
